Advertising on the Careers & Employability Centre: Employer Code of Practice Our online jobs and opportunities platform powered by JobTeaser, promotes vacancies and other opportunities (including part-time, graduate jobs and apprenticeships) to students and recent graduates of South Devon College and University Centre South Devon. By registering on the platform, you can post vacancies and other opportunities and create a company profile free of charge; visible exclusively to our students and graduates. This Code of Practice is intended to establish and maintain recognised standards for staff, students, organisations and employers using this platform to advertise opportunities. The placement of an advert with the Careers & Employability Centre shall be deemed acceptance of and agreement to this Code of Practice. Advertising an opportunity on the platform Employers and charitable organisations: Visit https://southdevon.jobteaser.com/en/recruiter_account/sign_in to post an individual opportunity. You will be able to track its progress live (when it is validated, number of views, how many students have applied), archive and modify it. We also encourage you to create a company profile to present your business or organisation in more detail. From here you can also add opportunities. Visit https://southdevon.jobteaser.com/en/sp_companies/users/new to get started. Recruitment agencies: Visit https://southdevon.jobteaser.com/en/sp_companies/users/new to create a company profile and post vacancies. Once a vacancy or company profile has been submitted or updated via the platform, it will be forwarded to our team for validating. You will receive a confirmation email. 2. We reserve the right to edit submitted adverts (both length and content) for publication purposes. 3. We reserve the right to refuse or withdraw a vacancy advert which we feel is not suitable for advertising through this service, or not in the best interests of students or graduates. In particular, this includes vacancies which to our knowledge: Have misleading, incomplete or inaccurate job descriptions Do not comply with the National Minimum Wage Do not meet the requirements of any other UK employment or equal opportunities law Compromise the health and/or safety of students and graduates Promote or involve illegal or immoral activity Involve students undertaking academic work for other students Are placed by private individuals Require the student or graduate to be self-employed to take up the opportunity 4. We may advertise specific vacancies on behalf of recruitment companies, providing that the advert is for a specific post and we are satisfied that the opportunity is in the interests of our students and graduates. 5. We ask that you provide as much notice as possible prior to the closing date of a vacancy and inform us if a vacancy has been filled and/or when a successful appointment has been made. 6. We cannot guarantee responses to vacancy advertisements. 7. Employers and organisations should satisfy themselves as to the student or graduate’s suitability and are responsible for taking up any references provided by the student or graduate. 8. Employers and organisations are responsible for ensuring that they comply with all relevant employment, equal opportunities and health and safety legislation in the course of employing students and graduates. 9. All contracts of employment are and should be agreed between the student or graduate and the employer. 10. Employers should be aware of students’ study obligations and bear these in mind when negotiating hours of work. During term-time, employers should ask students to work no more than 15 hours a week (full-time students) and adhere to visa restrictions (if applicable). 11. We accept no liability for the actions of students or graduates during the application process and/or once recruited from South Devon College or University Centre South Devon. 12. We bear no liability for loss, damage or delay arising from the delivery of services to promote an employer/organisation or their opportunities.
