BANNED PRODUCTS (a) Objects with a weight, dimensions, volume, format, address, postage, packaging that is not in accordance with regulations or stipulated in international conventions and agreement ratified by Brazil; (b) Any explosive, radioactive, decaying, fetid, nausea-inducing, corrosive, or easily flammable substance whose transportation constitutes a danger or could damage another object; (c) Cocaine, opium, morphine, other narcotics, and any other illicit substances; (d) Any object with an injurious address, sayings, or pictures, threatening, morally offensive, or contrary to public order or the country’s interests; (e) Any live animal, unless those accepted in an international convention ratified by Brazil; (f) Any live plant; (g) Any dead animal, bones, or animal ashes; (h) Objects whose indications or address do not guarantee the correct delivery to the recipient; (i) Objects whose circulation in the country, as an export or import, is prohibited by a competent authority; (j) Currency; (l) Substances that, being handled or transported, constitute a threat or can cause damages; (m) Narcotics or psychotropic substances (that produce hallucinations or delirium). The exception are those shipments legally authorized by presenting the specific documentation; (n) Objects that violate national security; (o) Firearms or munitions, except when authorized by specific legislation; (p) Cigarettes, derived from tobacco and similar products that are not in the scope of objects identified by the laws 9.294/1996 and 10.167/2000 and that are for commercial use; (q) Human remains, unless the transport of ashes is derived from cremation, which can be permitted if and when it is properly packaged in an hermetic, closed container that is afterwards packaged in a box with resistant cardboard; (r) Contents classified as dangerous according to specifications set by national regulations for air and terrestrial transport; (s) Any other goods or products banned by Brazilian law or protected by environmental law; (t) Merchandise with a limit of the Value to be Declared above that which is stipulated in the pricing tables of Correios; (u) Biological materials, except when shipped to a client with a specific contract for the service; (v) Shipping of liquids. Exceptions to the restrictions of liquids are the those objects shipped to clients who possess a commercial contract with Correios: - Cosmetics, perfumes, and personal hygiene products (with the exception of nail remover); - Drinks; - Medications in general (except formaldehyde, ether, alcohol); - Nutritional liquids and supplements; - Biological materials; - Printer ink and toners; - Essences; - Waxes, detergents, softeners, and liquid soap; - Products for the maintenance of aquariums; - Tattoo ink * the products identified in the other prohibitions, may suffer alterations through the circumstantial evaluation by the competent institutions. ACCEPTED CONTENTS WITH RESTRICTIONS (a) Orders containing gold, silver, platinum, bronze, nickel, or any other valuable metal, bills and coins out of circulation, stamps, or any other type of postage, jewels and precious articles or any paper that represents a value to the holder (except a check) will only be accepted through a declaration of value. In the case of a shipment containing a check, the constant rules in the link [http://www.correios.com.br/a-a-z/valor-declarado#tab-3] should be observed; (b) The transference of currency will only be accepted if it is put into effect through the Electronic Postal Voucher service; (c) Narcotics and psychotropic substances, given the legal authorization or shipped for medical or scientific reasons; (d) Bees, leeches, silk worms, parasites, and dangerous insect predators that are used for the control of those insects will only be accepted if they are sent by officially recognized institutions and are packaged in the appropriate manner, under the responsibility of the sender; (e) Firearms, pressurized or simulated (imitation), their pieces and accessories, through the exclusive service of SEDEX, with the compulsory use of the additional service named Reception Notice - AR, followed by a Traffic Guide issued by the Directory of Monitoring of Controlled Products - DFPC on the Ministry of Defense. Shipping may be completed by national manufacturers of firearms through the agreement of the Annex of the Service Contract of National Shipments and the Appendix of Firearms, and by clients without a contract to return to the manufacturer in cases of return or maintenance of the product through the Reverse Logistics service; (f) Samples of human or animal biological material through the agreement of the Annex of Service Contract of National Shipments and the Terms of Commitment for Shipment of Biological Material, as long as they observe all the conditions stipulated in the terms. National shipments should have an open postage in the following cases: (a) The Free Zone of Manaus to check the compliance of the requirements of the Ministry of Finance (with or without a declared value); (b) The units located in municipalities at the border with other countries, to follow the guidelines of the security institutions (with or without a declared value); (c) With an additional service of Declared Value—VD, as set out in the link [http:// www.correios.com.br/a-a-z/valor-declarado#tab-3]; (d) No payment service upon delivery—as set out in the link [http://www.correios.com.br/a-a-z/ pagamento-na-entrega]; If they shipments are observed to contain materials that are not permitted in the postal service, these will not, under any circumstances, be sent to their destination, nor delivered to the recipient, nor returned to the sender. The competent authorities will be contacted to take the necessary actions.
