Curriculum Vitae Davide Medas was born in Cagliari (Italy) in 1997. Currently, under the guidance of M. Alessandro Ciccolini, he is specializing in baroque violin at the A. Boito Conservatory in Parma, where he has had the opportunity to carry out numerous concert activities with the "Parma Musica Antica" music group and to participate in two masterclasses with M. Federico Maria Sardelli during the academic years 2016-2017 and 2017-2018. He has recorded an album for Tactus record label with the Orchestra of the Conservatory of Parma. He has performed with various orchestras in Italy and abroad, including the ensemble "Accademia degli Invaghiti" of M. Francesco Moi, "Reate Festival Baroque Ensemble" directed by M. Alessandro Quarta and "Le Musiche Nove" directed by M. Claudio Osele. He also collaborated with the Orchestra of the Musical Chapel of S. Petronio, with which he participated in 2018 in the production of the opera "Il Trionfo di Camilla" by G. Bononcini, as well as in the traditional Concert for the Solemnity of S. Petronio in 2018 and 2019. He was selected for the three-year period 2018-2020 as a full member of the National Baroque Orchestra of Italian Conservatories, with which he worked with masters such as Enrico Gatti and Gaetano Nasillo. With the same orchestra he recorded an album for the Glossa record label with the violinist Paolo Perrone and the countertenor Filippo Mineccia. In 2019 he founded the duo "Ars Arcana" together with the harpsichordist Francesco Monica, with whom he received a special mention in the "National Prize of Arts 2019 - Early Music Section". In the same year he joined the “Compagnia de Violini”, an ensemble founded by the masters Alessandro Ciccolini and Francesco Baroni with the aim of reconstituting a historical group of violinists active at the Farnese court between the late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. He actively collaborates with Raffaele Pe’s “La Lira di Orfeo" with which he participated in the Festival della Valle d'Itria 2021 in the production of the operas "Griselda" by A. Scarlatti and "L'Angelica" by N. Porpora (both recorded for Dynamic record label), under the direction of the masters George Petrou and F. M. Sardelli. In 2022 he recently took part in the production of N. Porpora’s “Orfeo” as the Second violin principal, performed in Vienna in the prestigious “Theater an der Wien” under the direction of Dmitry Sinkovsky and in Zagreb at the Croatian National Theater, directed by konzertmeister Anaïs Chen. He took part, with the Ensemble Quadriga Musica, in the fi rst ever recording of the Vespro della Beata Vergine (op. 14) by Maurizio Cazzati in the role of Violino secondo obbligato, under the direction of M. Marian Polin. The CD will be released in 2022 for “musikmuseum”, the Innsbruck Tiroler Landesmuseen’s record label.
