Project Notification COLUMBIA GAS PIPELINE REPLACEMENT 2022 For more information, visit ColumbiaGasPA.com The project will be worked in three phases throughout the Fall of 2022. Phase one will include night work on Provost Road beginning on September 15, 2022, from 6:00 pm through 6:00 am daily, Sunday night through Friday night each week as required by PennDOT for this phase of the project. Alternating single lane traffic on Provost Road between Saw Mill Run Blvd and the intersection of Weyman Road will take place. Phase one of the project is expected to be completed by September 29, 2022. Phase two of the project will be a transfer of pipe from Weyman Road to Provost Road. In order to complete this phase of the project in a timely and safe manner, Columbia Gas and its contractor NPL, will institute a two months long daily road closure of Provost Road between the intersection of Weyman Road south to the Fairhaven Beneficial Society at 7 Provost Road. The daily road closure is planned to start during the week of September 19, 2022, and take place between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm, Monday through Saturday of each week through the end of November 2022. This estimate is based on weather and road conditions while working the pipeline relocation project. The posted daily detour for traffic normally using Provost Road will include the use of Saw Mill Run Blvd (Route 51), Greenlee Road and Frank Street (see map). This temporary daily road closure and traffic plan is approved by PennDOT and Allegheny County. This closure will allow for safe travel by motorists around the work zone and enhance safety and efficiency for work crews to complete work on Provost Road. Emergency vehicles and residents and business owners living and working on Provost Road will be provided access to Provost Road using a traffic control pilot vehicle stationed at either end of the closure section by NPL’s traffic control team members. In advance of a significant Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) bridge replacement project on Weyman Road, Columbia Gas will undertake and complete a pipeline replacement and relocation project impacting Weyman Road as well as Provost Road in Whitehall Borough, Allegheny County. Phase three of the project will include work to install mainline pipe between Provost Road and Weyman Road which will include some limited night work on Weyman Road. Phase three is estimated to begin on October 29, 2022. Final pipe testing and tie - ins will occur following the completion of this third phase. The three phases of this Columbia Gas project are expected to take slightly more than two months with an estimated completion of pipe work and state and county road restoration by the end November 2022. Additional road closures may be required in the future during road restoration work. Please use extreme caution when traveling near the Columbia Gas work zone. Please slow down and obey all posted detour signs or flaggers.
