Vermont Poetry Fellowship PROUDLY PRESENTS WINTER 2022 Creating Your Lyric Self: The Classical Tradition and YOU Want to join the intimate tradition of lyric poetry? We will tour the classical tradition from the Ancient Greek poet Sap p ho to the Italian Renaissance poet Petrarch Together we will discover poetic forms, writing prompts, and inspiration. This special collaboration is being offered by Dr. Keeley Schell and Vermont poet Max Roland Ekstrom , featuring seven two-hour sessions via Zoom. Each class includes a one-hour discussion of literature led by Keeley and an hour of workshop led by Max. Also included are individualized consultations and written feedback on your poetry by both leaders. Vermont poet Max Roland Ekstrom received his MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College. His poetry appears in such journals as The Hollins Critic , Illuminations , and The Lyric , and is anthologized in Except for Love: New England Poets Inspired by Donald Hall Keeley Schell holds a Ph.D. in Classics from Brown University, where she focused on Latin poetry, and an M.Phil. in Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic from Cambridge University.
