Using information & communications technologies to enhance and transform learning AITSL re. effective use of ICTs in the classroom as relate to graduate teachers:- Focus area 2.6 Information and Communication Technology (ICT): Implement teaching strategies for using ICT to expand curriculum learning opportunities for students. Focus area 3.4 Select and use resources: Demonstrate knowledge of a range of resources, including ICT, that engage students in their learning. SAMR METHOD eg. student opens a google doc posted by the teacher or uses word to create a doccument No extra level of classroom engagement eg. students create a presentation with use of multimedia elements Some possible increase in student engagement Students work collaboratively on a presentation online using Google Slides or respond to a class discussion using Padlet Potential for greater improvement in student engagement if used effectively ICT tools used for significant redesign of class tasks ICT tools are used as direct substitutes but with some functional improvements ICTs are used for the creation of new learning experiences previously not possible ICTS IN THE CLASSROOM FOR ENGAGING USE OF USING THE SUBSTITUTION AUGMENTATION MODIFICATION REDEFINITION ICTs are only used as a substitute for direct learning with no functional change E N H A N C E M E N T T R A N S F O R M A T I O N Using Twiducate, students actively engage in a critical discussion of a digital presentation the teacher has posted up in real time and embed response videos uploaded to youtube into their reply posts Far greater opportunity for engagement through active participaption
