We want to ensure a customer can enjoy their motorcycle in a controlled environment. 1.2 Scope The process and procedures are applicable to all c ustomers, T rack Managers, Marshalls, a dmin staff, m aintenance s taff, medical s taff , contractors, motorcycle instructors and all other stakeholders. 1.3 Responsibilities The policies and procedures must be adhered to by all stakeholders. The responsibility lies on the Hirer and the MPS Motorsport Ltd safety / admin teams to ensure that this is the case. 1.4 Definitions T’s and C’s – Refers to Terms and Conditions of the Circuit MPS Motorsport Ltd – MPS Motorsport Ltd A Licence – Refers to full unrestricted Motorcycle Licence A2 Licence – Refers to a Motorcycle Licence restricted to 47 horsepower ACU Licence – Auto Cycle Union Circuit Racing Licence ECER2205 – European Standards of a motorcycle Crash Helmet ACU – Governing body of Motorcycle Sport in England and Wales H&S – Health and Safety 1.5 References A. Terms and Conditions 3 Motorcycle Track Day Policy and Pro cedures 2.1 Customer Policy All motorcycle track event customers/riders must 2.1.1 B e competent and fit to take part on a motorcycle track day. 2.1.2 Agree to, understand and comply with all MPS Motorsport Ltd policies and T’s & C’s listed on the MPS Motorsport Ltd website and any supplementary regulations and / or final instructions. 2.1.3 A ccept the personal risks involved , including death or injury , and associated risks to their motorcycles 2.1.4 Not participate if they have suffered a head injury or concussion within the last three months or a seizure within the last 6 months. 2.1.5 Ensure the s uitability of their m achine – m otorcycles must be safe and fit for track use. 2.1.6 Inform the circuit if they are using an electric motorcycle. 2.1.7 Possess an A or A2 driving l icence or an ACU r acing l icence. 2.1.8 Use correct equipment – 1 - or 2 - piece zip together leathers, a ppropriate track motorcycle boots and gloves, f ull face helmet approved to ECER2205 or ACU Gold sticker approved. All protective clothing listed must be worn whenever riding on track. Textile clothing is not permitted. 2.1.9 If using cameras, securely fix them to the front or rear of the b ike. Use of body or helmet cameras is prohibited. Use of d rones is strictly prohibited 2.1.10 Refrain from lap timing as this is strictly prohibited and this would be in contravention of MPS Motorsport Ltds liability insurance unless for a registered test or race day. 2.1.11 Do their own Waste Removal – Tyres, waste oil, batteries and old engine parts should not be disposed of at MPS Motorsport Ltd. 2.1.12 Observe the pit lane and paddock speed limit of 15mph. 2.1.13 Wear helmets at all times when riding on site 4 2.1.14 Have identification on them and their bikes to confirm they have signed on and completed a briefing. These are to be provided by the Hirer and approved by MPS Motorsport Ltd. 2.1.15 M ake the circuit medical team away of any existing health conditions that may have an impact on them taking part in on - track activities. 2.1.16 Complete two sighting laps at the start of the day under supervision of an instructor. 2.1.17 Not overtake during sighting laps, once sighting laps are completed a ny overtake riders must leave a 2m gap on either side of the rider being overtaken. 2.1.18 N ot drive or ride while under the influence of alcohol or intoxicating drugs 2.1.19 N ot smoke in the pits or on the circuit – it is a fire risk 2.1.20 N ot eat/drink or chew gum on the circuit – to prevent risk of choking 2.1.21 Access, exit, and stop on the circuit in compliance with the following: Accessing the Circuit : Enter only either via pit lane or assembly area, one vehicle at a time having obeyed lights or signal from a marshal. Check for other vehicles on the circuit and keep left until well clear of pits. Exiting the Circuit: Only leave the circuit at the pit lane entry. Signal your intention to leave the circuit on approach to the chicane, by raising a hand in the ai r. Continue signalling until you have exited the circuit. Stopping on the Circuit: Only stop in case of mechanical breakdown , crash, or a signal to do so from a marshal. If forced to stop on the circuit or a run - off area, try to park as safely as possible (far from the track and preferably behind a barrier). Use hazard - warning lights if fitted. Riders should, if it is safe to do so, move behind safety barriers or obey the marshals’ instructions. The H irer is responsible for working with the circuit safety team to ensure all the above are adhered to by their customers. 2.2 Circuit arrival Policy 2.2.1 The Circuit paddock opens at 7am and it is advisable to arrive as close to this time as possible. E arlier arrival is prohibited as the entrance to the circuit may be closed and this may cause traffic congestion on the public highway. 2.2.2 On arrival, please avoid excessive noise before 8am such as revving of engines as MPS Motorsport Ltd has a duty of care to its surrounding neighbours. 2.3 Signing on Policy/Noise Test 5 The circuit H irer must ensure that 2.3.1 All Riders go to the signing o n office apon arrival at the circuit to sign - on with the Hirer to take part in track activities by writing their full name and signature on a document provided by the Hirer. 2.3.2 All rider complete an indemnity form , that includes the below wording, if they have not already done so on line In the event of any accident, agree to save harmless and keep indemnified MPS Motorsport Ltd, their officials, representatives, agents and members from and against all actions, costs, expenses, claims and demands in respect of injury, fatal or otherwise, l oss or damage to person or property of myself or my guests accompanying me however caused or arising out of or in connection with my entry or to my taking part in any training course or event or not occasioned to be reason of negligence of the said bodies, officials, representatives or agents. 2.3.3 A valid licence as per 2. 1 7 is produced when signing on. 2.3.4 Riders are allocated a group according to rider/track experience. 2.3.5 After completing signing o n customers must present their motorcycle for a noise test as per our T’s & C’s which commences at 8am. This is at the Scrutineering Bay by the Paddock Bridge. Providing the machine passes the noise test, you will be issued with a pass sticker which will be attached to the front of your bike 2.4 Briefing Policy All riders are required to attend a mandatory safety briefing run by the Hirer The briefing should explain how the day will run and cover in detail all the safety aspects of circuit riding including flag signals, incidents, overtaking, and mandatory sighting laps. The briefing must cover all items in section 2.2 and the below. 2.4.1 Circuit layout: A detailed overview of the track layout, pit entrance and exit, and key points such as marshal/flag posts and location of safety team 2.4.2 Flags: 6 Yellow: Track hazard Red: Session ended/track hazard/SLOW DOWN/be prepared to stop/Return to pits/No overtaking Chequered: (at pits): Session over/Complete the full lap/Return to the pits Striped Red and Yellow: CAUTION/Beware of a slippery substance on track Black: You MUST slow down/Return to pits on completion of lap/Report to Track Steward/either you’re breaking circuit rules or the vehicle appears faulty. 2.4.3 Incident Process: Incident Process: in the event of any on - circuit incident the safety team will communicate with the drivers via the above referenced flagged. All drivers must be ware of where the falg points are and their required action when being shown any of them. Driv e must not stop on circuit to respond to an incident not involving themselves. If a driver observes an incident and does not see any flags they should exit the circuit via the pitlane and immediately notify the safety team, any queries about an incident sh ould be put forward to the safety team in the paddock. 2.5 G eneral Discipline 2.5.1 Riders must a lways obey instructions given from marshals, instructors and track officials. 2.5.2 No racing on circuit with fellow riders is allowed 2.5.3 Dangerous / inconsiderate riding will not be tolerated and riders will be asked to leave the circuit 2.5.4 Riders must not participate while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. 2.5.5 No refunds will be given if any of the above policies are not adhered to. 2.5.6 No drilling or pegging into the tarmac is allowed
