Welcome to the Quantitative Ability Test 70 Questions - 75 Minutes This is part II of the Stratosphere - an extended range version of the 1974 - 1994 SAT. This test is an extended range version of the 1980s SAT Math section. It is primarily a test of REASONING ability and NOT mathematical ability; however, basic mathematical fluency is required to do well on the test. You should be familiar with basic concepts in algebra, trigonometry and probability, up to high school level. The rules are as follows: NO CALCULATORS ALLOWED - You may use a pencil and unlimited scrap paper. NO OUTSIDE RESOURCES ALLOWED other than the following formulas: It is recommended that you review this information before starting, and you may reference this informatio n at any point during the test. You have 75 minutes for 70 questions . Pace yourself accordingly. The test is broken into two sections, both of which scale from easy to hard. NOTE*: The test is scored identically to the SAT in that you will lose 0.25 points for an incorrect answer. However, optimal strategy dictates that you should always guess unless you have no idea of the answer whatsoever. Educated guesses are correct more often than chance. To ensure accurate scoring, p lease note the number of questions you decide to leave blank; though to reiterate, generally speaking it is in your best interest to make your best guess. An analysis from the Verbal Ability Index indicated that those that always guessed universally outper formed cautious test - takers that exempted many questions.
