He is ranked No.1 by Guyana’s official tennis federation - the Guyana Tennis Association ( GTA ) Nathan is also Guyana’s N#1 under 12 tennis player and was Guyana’s N#1 under 10 tennis player - dominating his previous league s with numerous victories before rising up the hierarchy to the under 14 league . He won 27 tournaments in total Out of those 27 wins, 24 are for singles and 3 are for doubles. This is an era where young tennis warriors are e ach rising up, hoping to be the best. Despite these challenges from his ruthless competitors, Nathan still manages to outplay and outclass almost all who contests him He is nothing short than the best – a young prodigy, an unpolished gem yet to be fully r efined ! Nathan is a member of the De Nobrega family and the second borne son of Nickosha Smith – his mother. His Grandmother, a guardian who played a key role in Nathan’s upbringing, namely Sheila Lam , is the very heart of Nathan’s family. He has six sibling s , 4 being brothers and 2 being sisters. He grew up in Diamond , East Bank Demerara and speaks proficient English and a bit of Spanish English is his native language. Nathan started his tennis journey with the up and coming Tennis Club Rebel Tennis Club in the year 2016 ; his coach being none other than the legendary tennis player - Andre Erskine Initially wondering if he should pursue tennis, Nathan gave t ennis a few weeks test run and lo and behold, a strong passion and love was developed for the sport even after there was hesitation for a period of time. Nathan grew up as an academic genius , exceeding others in knowledge and being promoted to more advanced grades steadily. He currently attends Diamond Secondary Schoo l. Factoring in his age and inexperience, Nathan is still deemed as the most potent member of the family, with natural talent and skills exceeding all of his family members in everything that he decides to passionately engage in. He continued to assert dominance over his foes throughout the under 12 league and (presently) the under 14 league; even crushing opponents that were almost 3x his age (in the men’s open doubles). Proudly flaunting over 20 trophies that w ere won locally, Nathan also has a bag of achievements to boast with ; victories won both at an International, and top Regional level. He always has full control of the ball, getting into his opponent’s head and initiating a grueling physiological attack against them before and during the game . If Nathan isn’t taken seriously by his opponents, no matter who they are, they will suffer a slow and painful defeat - and by the time the game is halfway in and realization hits, it would’ve already been too late for his opponents. Nathan 's success was severely hampered by a n ankle injury and other inju ries over his back , upper body and lower body - which he suffered th rough for about half a year. Despite these burdensome injuries , he forged ahead and competed through this pain, STILL continuously winning whatever matches or tournaments he played in – a legendary feat indeed!
