Girl Gang Craft was born with this belief in 2017 at a cafe with 15 friends selling their art. Recognizing the profound gap of support for local womxn artists and creative business owners, founder Phoebe Sherman wanted to do more. OUR STORY inclusive affordable brand support atmosphere (womxn artists often don't get the support they need to grow their businesses. GGC provides both free + paid resources on marketing, sales and running a business. (starting a business or promoting your art is hard as it is. GGC fosters a supportive space for all new womxn artists and hustling entrepreneurs to thrive.) (plain and simple: vending at craft fairs is expensive. GGC makes participation affordable and provides low-income scholarships.) ✔ ✔ ✔ ✔ (our vibe has been called magical, fun, and yes, even political. supporting womxn artists and business owners does not come without addressing systematic injustices.) Phoebe teaches workshops, courses, conferences to help entrepreneurs thrive on topics such as email marketing and social media. She designs the GGC feminist clothing line and hosts the the GGC podcast where she interviews female founders and teaches mini lessons to creatives. When she is not working, Phoebe is doing yoga, playing outside, and eating good food. Phoebe got her “making” start after college when she needed something to do with her hands and started a really terrible jewelry line. From there, around the 2016 election, she transitioned to more political graphics like her uterus design, making patches, pouches, and finally the uterus enamel pin. She started GGC accidentally when she gathered 15 artist friends in Luckyduck Cafe to sell work, and it turned into a party and a mission. Since then, Phoebe remains dedicated to lifting up her community, and helping artists to get PAID. Hannah Crawford is a non practicing Fiber Artist Witch, obsessed with Tarot, Astrology and general magic making. Hannah has been involved with every GGC event except 1. Hannah grew up with Phoebe (hello dance classes + circus camp) and has worked in some capacity for GGC since the beginning Hailing from Austin, Texas, Gina King is currently living in the Bay Area. She is passionate about marketing, public relations, and female entrepreneurship, and is excited to use her skills for the Girl Gang Craft team. When she's not pitching or following up with clients, you can find her at a craft fair, trying new skincare, and eating her way through the SF/Bay area. This is simply a dream team! With Gina + Hannah working 5 ish hours a week, and Phoebe working full time or (perhaps over full-time), this little business is small, but mighty. WHAT OUR COMMUNITY IS SAYING "GGC events always feel the incredibly alive to me; there is always an interesting, vibrant, and diverse group of makers who bring an infectious energy. I always leave feeling so honored and blessed to be in the room with these incredibly inspiring (and dare I say, extremely *cool*) women and women-identifying makers." - @chuckandsamorganics on events: on classes: "Phoebe is very personable. It's like your girl friend saying "hey, you have something in your teeth" then giving you a mirror and floss. I mean this girl really gets in your business and helps you get your sh*t together." - @b.a.g.box WINS THIS CRAZY YEAR We unveiled a super fun, colorful website in the spring of this year! New Website! We premiered Girl Gang Craft, the Podcast in April. Phoebe interviews female founders + gives mini lessons on marketing, biz management, + more. New Podcast! The GGC uterus pin got picked up by the national small chain Good Vibrations, a sex-positive sex store. The pun premiered in 14 stores. Good Vibes In our first 6 week course ever, 35 creatives signed up to dive deep into marketing, biz development + mental health. Level Up We teamed up with Adobe to produce a set of IGTV episodes to show creators how to use Spark. Later we got selected for a year long ambassador program. Adobe Ambassador The artist community is hurting with the lack of events + retailers. Not to mention service-providers who can no longer provide intimate services. Entrepreneurs have had to get creative with their now virtual offerings. We are proud to have pivoted our little events business this year to focus on educating creatives with the tools they need to expand their reach + revenue , plus engage them in a virtual community. Thank you for taking the time to look over our deck, and we hope you see the value in supporting our mission to continue educating creatives on kicking ass online! xoxo girl gang craft
