Tested various FPC shapes to derive the design with the least flexure upon bending . Prepared engineering CAD models of the device. • Prepared the startup calibration process for the device. Defined the operational modes switching diagrams of the device firmware and the app client. Defined the hand motion state prediction model output and input parameters. • Designed a variable timestep numerical integrator and zero velocity detector to reduce position integration drift in hand motion measurement. Developed a MATLAB solution to visualise the estimated hand pose from the inertial sensor array. TAKTUS • Devised electrocutaneous stimulation test plan to identify optimal pulse voltage, burst rate, frequency, and spatial resolution for ambient sensation. Texture Augmentation System • Designed two surface profile regeneration techniques using audio signals from surface and probe interaction, and visual reconstruction on MATLAB using shadow profiles of the surface with light incident from multiple angles. • Implemented an architecture to extract texture data of a photographed object from vendor data. Used RCNN network to match to the closest product images and lookup texture data from the vendor’s catalouged data. StereoVision • Developed a proof of concept low-cost stereovision setup. ADVITIY • Implemented SSTV picture transmission protocol on ATxmega128 by iteratively calibrating RF waveform generation to microseconds using interrupts, as proof-of-concept of the payload, delivering 99.6% accuracy • Surveyed, implemented and tested multiple compression strategies to reduce on-board data storage requirement finalizing an efficient storage division plan increasing on-board data storage capability 6-fold. • Designed and successfully demonstrated the on-board frequency modulation architecture for payload downlink using voltage-controlled crystal oscillator, keeping in-orbit environmental cycling risks in mind.
