The console uses the WeatherFlow REST API and websocket to stream data from your station in real time v ia the internet. As soon as the data from your station reaches the WeatherFlow servers, it is pushed immediately to the console, including the 3 - second rapid wind updates. It cost me approximately $165 in parts. Steps for building the Display Finding out what parts to buy, how to install it correctly in the case, getting the screen to always stay on, etc took me a day of googling. You can buy a cheaper Raspberry Pi, but I opted for the 4b with 4GB. I already had a wireless keyboard/mouse which is not re quired after the OS and software is installed and configured. You can use any USB mouse/keyboard to perform the setup, but wireless is my preference so I can store them out of site and leave the USB dongle installed for when I need to run updates. Here ar e the parts I purchased in US A dollars Raspberry Pi 7" Touch Screen Display $60 SmartiPi Touch 2 - Case for The Official Raspberry Pi 7" Touchscreen Display w/fan $28 Note - do not bolt Pi to th e case, the fan door closes snuggly around the Pi and posts it sits on. If you attach nuts to the posts the fan door will not close. This video shows the process of using the Imager Use this video to see how to connect the hardware components together. Smar tiPi Touch 2 case instructions may be useful to you if video left you with questions. Once the Raspberry Pi is powered up , complete the setup tasks using these instructions Next you need to open a terminal window and install W eather F low PiConsole found here Optional step is to install a screen saver and modif y the setting to disable the screen saver so the display always stays on using this video *** I would suggest opening from a Desktop computer if you have troubles with the embedded URL's 73 de AI4Y
