Introduction This project explores the design fabrication of a sofa and sidetable tailored for a podcast studio environment Problem Statement Podcasting has rapidly emerged as one of the most influential forms of digital communication and content creation in K ampala, leading to the growth of small-scale recording studios for creators, businesses, and media professionals. H owever, many of these studios prioritize recording equipment and technology while overlooking key aspects such as interior aesthetics, acoustic performance, and user comfort. The use of unsuitable materials and inadequate acoustic treatments often results in poor sound quality, with unwanted sound reflections negatively affecting the recording environment. At the same time, furniture selection is frequently treated as a secondary consideration, despite its significant impact on both studio functionality and acoustic performance. Furthermore, podcast hosts and guests typically remain seated for extended periods during recording sessions yet many studios rely on standard seating U units that offer limited ergonomic support and may even contribute to sound reflection. This can lead to physical discomfort, reduced productivity and a less effective recording experience. Therefore, there is a need for an ergonomic seating unit that is to say a chair and table specifically designed for podcast studios, one that promotes comfort and proper posture while incorporating acoustically conscious materials that enhance the overall sound quality and aesthetic appeal of the space.
