MythLog Privacy Policy Page 1 MythLog Privacy Policy Effective date: August 1, 2026 · Applies to MythLog 1.0.0 and later The Short Version MythLog does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Everything MythLog records stays on your Mac, under your control. There are no accounts, no servers, no analytics, and no third-party services. This document explains that in detail. Data the Developer Collects None. MythLog contains no network transmission of your data, no telemetry, no crash reporting, and no analytics of any kind. The developer receives no information about you, your Mac, or your use of the app. Data Stored on Your Device MythLog's purpose is to record local system events into a private, tamper-evident event ledger stored on your Mac. This data is created by you, belongs to you, and never leaves your machine through MythLog. Recorded events include: • Screen lock and unlock times • Sleep, wake, and display power events • App launch, activation, and termination signals • Change notifications for files and folders you explicitly choose to watch • Custom events that your own scripts submit through the command-line interface • Recorder health, heartbeat, and ledger-integrity events MythLog records that these events occurred and when. It does not capture the content of your work: it never logs keystrokes, never takes screenshots, never records audio or video, and never reads your messages, mail, browsing history, or documents. iCloud Drive Anchors (Optional) To make tampering with the ledger detectable, MythLog periodically writes a small integrity anchor — a cryptographic fingerprint (hash) of the ledger's latest record, a record count, and a timestamp — to a MythLog folder in your own iCloud Drive. This anchor contains no event content. It syncs through your personal iCloud account under Apple's terms and is never visible to the developer. You can disable anchoring or change its destination in MythLog's configuration, and delete the folder at any time. MythLog Privacy Policy Page 2 Third Parties MythLog includes no third-party SDKs, advertising frameworks, or tracking technologies. No data is shared with any third party. The only external service involved is your own iCloud Drive, and only if you keep the optional anchoring feature enabled. Your Control The background recorder is a visible login item that you install and can stop, remove, or uninstall from within the app at any time. All recorded data lives in your user Library folder and your iCloud Drive, and deleting it is documented in the app's uninstall guide. Because the developer holds no copy of your data, there is nothing to request, export, or erase on any server — you already hold the only copy. Children's Privacy MythLog does not collect data from anyone, including children, and offers no accounts or communication features. Open Source MythLog is open source under the MIT license. Anyone can audit the complete source code to verify every statement in this policy. Changes to This Policy If MythLog ever adds a feature that changes how data is handled (for example, optional remote notifications), this policy will be updated before that feature ships, with the effective date above revised and changes noted in the app's release notes.
