Unremarkable medical history other than the R tusk presented pulpitis after iatrogenic pulp cavity exposure years ago. Radiographs of R tusk showed appropriate denting bridge formed. Animal is non-clinical for pulpitis or for any other abnormality. PHYSICAL EXAM Animal handling : Procedure performed in the ERD. Protected contact with voluntary participation and trained behaviors; Very cooperative - procedure was uneventful. Weight: 4,726 kg (18 July 2026) BCS: 5/9 (4 June 2026) General: Bright, alert, responsive. Conformation: Excellent conformation EENT: Eyes free of discharge OU; fundic exam - NSF; nares are clear and free of discharge/debris bilaterally; brief oral exam revealed maxillary cheek teeth exhibited broad, all in excellent condition. INTEG: No ectoparasites or dermal lesions appreciated. M/S: Ambulatory x4 without evidence of ataxia; well-muscled with adequate tone and symmetrical distribution. No weakness appreciated at brief standing exam. No significant nail cracks or other feet abnormalities. NEURO: Subjectively appropriate mentation and ambulation; no asymmetry of the face or musculature appreciated; full neurologic examination not performed. DIAGNOSTICS: Radiographic evaluation of all four feet, including dorsomedial-palmarolateral oblique (DMPLO) projections of the forefeet and dorsoplantar (DP) projections of the hind feet centered over digit 3 (D3) for all views. Submit for radiologist interpretation. TREATMENTS: Rabies vaccine: Administered Elanco Rabvac (E206790A, exp 8 Sept 27) 1ml IM in R rear limb following chlorohexidine scrub and alcohol wipe. Tetanus vaccine: Administered Zoetis tetanus toxoid (769472A, exp 25 Sep 26) 1mL IM in L rear limb following chlorohexidine scrub and alcohol wipe. ASSESSMENT: Routine exam, no evident abnormaliteis. Elephant with a history of R tusk pulpitis; currently considered resolved after dentin bridge considered adequate by dentist consultant. PLAN: Keepers to continue current diet and husbandry.
