VEENANA STUDIOS www.veenanastudios.com Info.veenana@gmail.com The Veenana Studios were created by Veena and Nikita, mother and daughter artists based in Dubai and India, who create paintings for art lovers to beautify and transform their homes. They often work with collectors and interior designers on projects internationally. Working in complementary but differing styles, the two artists have distinctive approaches full of colour, expression and detail. Nikita creates powerful, experimental abstract compositions that are highly atmospheric. She often works with immersive fields of shimmering colour and striking texture. Working intuitively, Nikita creates canvases that could be lunar landscapes or swirling weather systems. Some pieces give the impression of more elemental, terrestrial forms, and all have a transportative , meditative quality. Veena’s detailed, figurative works are full of narrative and life experience. Her paintings show women, families and other group interactions surrounded by flora and fauna, rendered in an abundance of scintillating colour. She builds up each image with hundreds of small, jewel - like pools of colour, each rendered in its own specific miniature pattern. An emotive personal language of symbolic elements is employed including imagery indicating life - force, renewal, love and connections to nature. The duo recently participated in World Art Dubai, 2022 and will present work at Index Dubai in May 2022. They are featured in the upcoming ARTVENTUROUS MAGAZINE summer issue, a special edition for Art Basel, Switzerland. Veena studied at the College of Art in New Delhi and her work is held in private collections in India. Nikita studied at the Pearl Academy of Fashion and University of Delhi and has a wide client base in Dubai.
