It is a build-and-maintain credential rather than a design-on-paper one - the syllabus is phrased almost entirely as things you do in the Architect interface. Everything below comes from VMExam’s GCX-ARC syllabus page. Certification Genesys Cloud CX Architect Certification (GCX-ARC) Exam code GCX-ARC Product Genesys Cloud CX Questions 60 Duration 120 minutes Passing score 65% Exam fee USD 580 Registration Kryterion Webassessor Recommended training The Architect course in the Genesys education catalogue Who it is for Architects and administrators who build and maintain call flows, IVR and integrations on Genesys Cloud CX Two things are worth settling before you book. First, the fee is USD 580 - high for a 60-question paper, and the same as the on-premises Composer Routing exam. At that price the practice run matters more than usual. Second, Genesys lists the certification in its education catalogue, but that page is a JavaScript application and publishes no readable exam detail, so treat VMExam’s syllabus as the working reference and confirm the fee when you register through Kryterion Webassessor. SECTION 02 Who This Exam Is Built For This is for the people who own the flows - the ones called when a call lands in the wrong queue at nine in the morning. The syllabus assumes you are already working in Architect rather than reading about it: Genesys Cloud Architects Contact Centre Administrators Integration Engineers There is no prerequisite exam. The recommended training is the Architect course in the Genesys education catalogue, and the product documentation worth keeping open is the About Architect section in the Genesys Cloud Resource Center, which is where the behaviour the exam asks about is actually specified. www.vmexam.com Genesys GCX-ARC Genesys Cloud CX Architect Certification (GCX-ARC) 2 SECTION 03 The Four Syllabus Sections Genesys publishes the topic list for this exam but no percentage weightings , so there is no official statement of where the marks are. What the list does show is how the objectives are distributed, and it is lopsided: five of the eleven objectives are flows and IVR , and a single objective covers security. Architect Flows and IVR Development 5 Data Actions and Integrations 3 Troubleshooting and Best Practices 2 Security Considerations 1 Objectives named per section on the VMExam syllabus. This is a proxy for emphasis, not an official weighting - Genesys publishes none. Eleven objectives in total, which is few enough to treat the list as a literal checklist. Note how practical the verbs are - navigate, design, implement, configure, integrate, analyze. Only one objective ("understand flow versioning and deployment") is framed as knowledge rather than action. 01. Architect Flows and IVR Development (5 objectives) • Navigate the Genesys Cloud Architect user interface (UI). • Design inbound, outbound, and secure call flows. • Implement prompts and transfers. • Configure speech recognition and Text-to-Speech (TTS). • Understand flow versioning and deployment. 02. Data Actions and Integrations (3 objectives) • Work with Genesys Cloud APIs. • Configure web services and data actions. • Integrate with Salesforce, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and external databases. 03. Troubleshooting and Best Practices (2 objectives) • Analyze call routing and transfer issues. • Follow Architect best practices and optimization tips. 04. Security Considerations (1 objective) • Review access control and permissions. www.vmexam.com Genesys GCX-ARC Genesys Cloud CX Architect Certification (GCX-ARC) 3 SECTION 04 What the Credential Is Worth Contact-centre platform work is a specialism that pays above general IT but is rarely reported under its own title. The nearest verifiable baseline is the broader discipline: PayScale puts the average base salary for a telecommunications engineer in the United States at $88,253, on 184 salary profiles last updated 28 June 2026, with the tenth to ninetieth percentile running from $61,000 to $121,000. Why this exam, specifically • Architect is the centre of Genesys Cloud CX: if you own the flows, you own how every interaction is routed. • Data actions and integrations are three of the eleven objectives - Salesforce, AWS and external databases by name. • Troubleshooting is on the blueprint, which is unusual and matches what the job actually involves. • Genesys Cloud is the growth side of the Genesys estate, where the on-premises exams cover a platform customers are migrating off. That understates a Genesys Cloud architect, and the reason is the integration half of this syllabus. Building an IVR is a contact-centre skill; wiring it to Salesforce, calling a web service mid-flow and handling what comes back is a platform-engineering one, and people who do both are scarce. Genesys Cloud is also where the customer base is heading, which makes this credential forward-looking in a way the on-premises papers are not. SECTION 05 Getting Certified, Step by Step 1 Get into Architect and build a flow end to end Inbound first, then outbound and secure. Add prompts, a transfer, a schedule group and a holiday schedule. Publish it, change it, and publish again so versioning stops being abstract. 2 Learn the flow types and when each applies Inbound, outbound, in-queue and secure call flows each have their own rules - including which can be reused across campaigns. The sample set tests exactly this, and so does the real paper. 3 Wire up a data action Three of the eleven objectives are integration. Configure a web service data action, call it from a flow, and handle both the success and failure paths. If you can reach Salesforce or an AWS service from a sandbox, do that too. 4 Practise troubleshooting, not just building One section is entirely about analysing routing and transfer problems. Break a flow deliberately - a mis-set timeout, a wrong transfer target - and work back from the symptom. 5 Book through Webassessor, after a timed rehearsal 60 questions in 120 minutes is two minutes each, which is comfortable; at 65% you need 39 correct and can lose 21. At USD 580 the rehearsal is the cheap part. www.vmexam.com Genesys GCX-ARC Genesys Cloud CX Architect Certification (GCX-ARC) 4 For step five, VMExam’s GCX-ARC practice exam mirrors the real format so you can find the gaps before the exam does. SECTION 06 Genesys GCX-ARC Sample Questions These ten questions come from VMExam’s GCX-ARC sample questions page, presented here in shuffled order. Only one asks for more than one answer - it wants three from four options. Four of the ten are fill-in-the-blank, which is a format worth seeing before exam day. One oddity worth naming: the file-size question about Genesys Cloud Documents does not map to any of the four syllabus sections, so treat it as general platform knowledge rather than a signal about the blueprint. The answer key is at the end of the section. Q1. Pair it with the Resource Center documentation, which is the authority on what each Architect action actually does.
