The facts below come from Broadcom’s own 5V0-36.22 exam guide, cross-checked against VMExam’s 5V0-36.22 syllabus page. Exam code 5V0-36.22 Certification VMware Telco Cloud Platform Specialist Skills 2024 Items 50 Duration 105 minutes Passing score 300, on a scaled method Exam fee USD 250 Delivery Proctored, through Pearson VUE Minimally qualified candidate 3 to 6 months hands-on with VMware Telco Cloud Automation, with working knowledge of vSphere Prerequisite None; training is recommended, not required Recommended training VMware Telco Cloud Automation (TCA) Fundamentals; TCA Install, Configure, Manage [R1.8]; Telco Cloud Platform (TCP) Foundations [v2.0]; TCP Install, Configure, Manage [V2.0] Exam guide Broadcom’s 5V0-36.22 exam guide, dated 01/09/2023 in its own header Two things to know before you read the blueprint. First, the pass mark of 300 is scaled , so it does not tell you how many of the 50 items you need right. Second, the naming is untidy: the exam code ends in .22, Broadcom’s guide is dated 2023, and the certification is called "Specialist Skills 2024". Broadcom’s certification page explains in its FAQ why skill certifications carry a year designator; what matters for preparation is that the objectives below are the current ones and have not changed since the guide was written. SECTION 02 Who This Exam Is Built For Broadcom describes the minimally qualified candidate precisely: three to six months hands-on with Telco Cloud Automation, working knowledge of vSphere, a basic grasp of ETSI architecture, cloud management concepts and DevOps processes, and awareness of the TCA data models - YAML, TOSCA, SOL/IFA, JSON - and Kubernetes. That describes three groups: www.vmexam.com VMware 5V0-36.22 VMware Telco Cloud Platform Specialist Skills 2024 (5V0-36.22) 2 Telco Cloud Engineers NFV and CNF Onboarding Teams VMware Administrators in Operators Every one of the thirty objectives begins with "Identify", which is the clearest signal of level on any VMware blueprint - this is a recognise-and-describe exam, not a configure-under-pressure one. The product documentation worth keeping open is Broadcom’s Telco Cloud Automation documentation, which is where the behaviour the questions ask about is specified. SECTION 03 The Thirty Objectives, by Section Broadcom lays every VMware blueprint over the same seven standard sections and publishes no weightings . For this exam, one of the seven is empty : Section 3, Planning and Designing, has no testable objectives in this version, and the guide says so. The six remaining sections are counted below. Section 1: Architectures and Technologies 4 Section 2: VMware Products and Solutions 14 Section 4: Installing, Configuring, and Setup 4 Section 5: Performance-tuning, Optimization, Upgrades 1 Section 6: Troubleshooting and Repairing 5 Section 7: Administrative and Operational Tasks 2 Objectives per section in Broadcom’s exam guide. This is a proxy for emphasis, not an official weighting - Broadcom publishes none. Section 3 is omitted because it has no testable objectives. The imbalance is the point: Section 2 alone carries fourteen of the thirty objectives , and it is really three subjects in one - vSphere components, networking and storage (2.1 to 2.3), Kubernetes and Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (2.4 to 2.8), and network functions, descriptors and Harbor (2.9 to 2.14). Section 5 is a single objective on late binding. One wording note: Broadcom’s guide writes "Objective 2.10.:" with a stray period, and the section is titled "Architectures" in the objective list but "Architecture" in the standard list - the objective-list spelling is used here. 01. Section 1: Architectures and Technologies (4 objectives) • 1.1 Identify the characteristics of the architecture of VMware Telco Cloud Platform. • 1.2 Identify the characteristics of the VMware Telco Cloud Automation architecture. • 1.3 Identify the characteristics of VMware Telco Cloud Automation deployment options. • 1.4 Identify the characteristics of the vSphere architecture. www.vmexam.com VMware 5V0-36.22 VMware Telco Cloud Platform Specialist Skills 2024 (5V0-36.22) 3 02. Section 2: VMware Products and Solutions (14 objectives) • 2.1 Identify the key VMware components that are part of vSphere. • 2.2 Identify the characteristics of the networking options of vSphere. • 2.3 Identify the characteristics of the storage options of vSphere. • 2.4 Identify the role of containers in VMware Telco Cloud Platform. • 2.5 Identify the characteristics of the Kubernetes architecture. • 2.6 Identify the role of nodes and clusters. • 2.7 Identify the supporting components of Kubernetes. • 2.8 Identify the characteristics of the architecture of Tanzu Kubernetes Grid. • 2.9 Identify the characteristics of the types of network functions. • 2.10 Identify the characteristics of the type of descriptors. • 2.11 Identify the key vSphere operations for VNFs. • 2.12 Identify the special requirements of containers for network functions. • 2.13 Identify the type of descriptors for containers. • 2.14 Identify the role of Harbor. 03. Section 4: Installing, Configuring, and Setup (4 objectives) • 4.1 Identify the requirements for infrastructure. • 4.2 Identify the process of deploying VMs. • 4.3 Identify VM onboarding requirements. • 4.4 Identify the CNF requirements for onboarding. 04. Section 6: Troubleshooting and Repairing (5 objectives) • 6.1 Identify the characteristics of the components of the VMware Telco Cloud Platform dashboards. • 6.2 Identify the use of fault management in VMware Telco Cloud Platform for network functions. • 6.3 Identify the use of performance management in VMware Telco Cloud Platform for network functions. • 6.4 Identify how to use logs in VMware Telco Cloud Platform. • 6.5 Identify the functionality of the CLI tools that can be used for troubleshooting. www.vmexam.com VMware 5V0-36.22 VMware Telco Cloud Platform Specialist Skills 2024 (5V0-36.22) 4 06. Section 7: Administrative and Operational Tasks (2 objectives) • 7.1 Identify characteristics of the VNF life cycle management. • 7.2 Identify the characteristics of CNF life cycle management. SECTION 04 What the Credential Is Worth Telco platform engineering is rarely reported under its own title, so the nearest verifiable baseline is the wider discipline: PayScale puts the average base salary for a telecommunications engineer in the United States at $88,253 for 2026, on 184 salary profiles last updated 23 September 2026, with the tenth to ninetieth percentile running from $61,000 to $121,000. Why this exam, specifically • It is the only VMware credential aimed at the telco stack specifically - TCA, TCA-CP, CaaS, CNF onboarding - rather than general vSphere. • Operators running 5G cores and RAN on VMware need people who can read a CSAR and know where a TCA-CP goes, and there are few of them. • Specialist Skills exams are shorter and cheaper to attempt than the VCP track, and this one has a precise, finite objective list. • The Kubernetes half of Section 2 is transferable: TKG, nodes, clusters, Harbor and Ingress are not telco-specific skills. That understates the people this exam is written for. Someone who can onboard a CNF - read its TOSCA requirements, pick the workload cluster that satisfies them, place the TCA appliances on the right networks and then read the fault and performance dashboards when it misbehaves - is doing platform engineering for a mobile operator, and operators pay for scarcity. The credential is the cheapest way to show you know the vocabulary before you have the deployment on your CV. SECTION 05 Getting Certified, Step by Step www.vmexam.com VMware 5V0-36.22 VMware Telco Cloud Platform Specialist Skills 2024 (5V0-36.22) 5 1 Learn the three-layer picture first Far edge, near edge, central: what sits where in the reference architecture, and why cluster management, CI/CD, OSS and the image repository live in the core. One sample question is exactly this, and Sections 1 and 2 assume it. 2 Deploy TCA and a TKG management cluster, even in a lab Import the base OS image, register the vCenter, bring up the management cluster, then a workload cluster. Section 4 and the late-binding objective in Section 5 stop being abstract once you have seen the ESXInfoController discover a host. 3 Work Section 2 as three separate subjects vSphere components, networking and storage; Kubernetes and Tanzu Kubernetes Grid; network functions, descriptors and Harbor. Fourteen objectives, nearly half the exam, and each third needs different background. 4 Onboard one VNF and one CNF end to end Package the CSAR, use placement assistance, instantiate, then walk the life-cycle operations in Section 7 and the dashboards, fault management, logs and CLI tools in Section 6. 5 Rehearse against the clock, then book through Pearson VUE Fifty items in 105 minutes is just over two minutes each, which is generous. The pass mark is 300 scaled, so aim for comfortable margin rather than a percentage. For the rehearsal, VMExam’s 5V0-36.22 practice exam mirrors the real format, including the multi-answer items, so you can find the gaps before the exam does. SECTION 06 VMware 5V0-36.22 Sample Questions These ten questions come from VMExam’s 5V0-36.22 sample questions page, presented here in shuffled order. One asks for two answers from five options. Notice how many of them turn on the reference architecture - where TCA-CP goes, which network the appliances attach to, what lives at which edge layer - even though the blueprint’s planning-and-design section is empty. The architecture is tested through Sections 1 and 2 instead. The answer key is at the end of the section. Q1. In the cloud-native logical architecture of VMware Telco Cloud Platform, which plane provides management, monitoring and logging capabilities? a) The service plane of the platform b) The workload plane with its Kubernetes clusters c) The user plane d) The data plane carried by the worker nodes www.vmexam.com VMware 5V0-36.22 VMware Telco Cloud Platform Specialist Skills 2024 (5V0-36.22) 6 Q2. A CNF vendor has worked with the operator’s CNF developers to capture the CNF’s infrastructure requirements in the TOSCA extension of its CSAR. The operator runs several Tanzu Kubernetes Grid workload clusters whose node configurations differ, and is unsure which one can host the CNF. How does VMware Telco Cloud Automation help with this decision? a) It lets vSphere DRS put the CNF on the least-loaded vSphere cluster b) It offers placement assistance that locates a Kubernetes cluster able to meet the requirements in the CSAR c) It instantiates the CNF on the cluster that the CSAR names as its target d) It creates a new management cluster sized for the CNF and installs it there Q3. Three CNFs in one workload cluster each expose an HTTPS management portal through a Service. Operations wants a single external entry point that sends each request to the right portal by host name and handles TLS there. What should the operator configure? a) A NodePort Service for each portal, reached at a node IP and static port b) A single LoadBalancer Service exposing the three portals on separate ports of one address c) An Ingress with name-based virtual hosting rules for the three Services, terminating SSL at the entry point d) An ExternalName Service that maps the three portals to one DNS name Q4. VNF VMs in a DRS cluster are preferred to run on the hosts in rack A, which sit closest to the edge uplinks. If the rack A hosts are unavailable or overloaded, the VMs must still be able to run on the other hosts in the cluster. Which configuration meets this requirement? a) A VM-Host rule that says the VMs should run on hosts in the rack A group b) A VM-Host rule that requires the VMs to run on hosts in the rack A host group c) A VM-VM rule that keeps the VNF virtual machines together d) A resource pool that reserves rack A capacity for the VMs Q5. Which part of VMware Telco Cloud Platform lets operators create and manage the Kubernetes clusters that host 5G CNFs? a) vRealize Operations Manager b) The generic VNF Manager in TCA c) The vSAN storage layer of each workload domain d) The Container as a Service (CaaS) subsystem Q6. An operator is about to deploy the first Tanzu Kubernetes Grid management cluster from VMware Telco Cloud Automation onto a newly added vCenter Server. Which preparation must be completed before the cluster can be deployed? a) Import the base OS image OVA into vCenter as a template b) Install the image-builder tool on the vCenter Server appliance to build node images c) Register the node image as part of a TCA compute profile for that vCenter d) Enable a Supervisor Cluster on the compute cluster www.vmexam.com VMware 5V0-36.22 VMware Telco Cloud Platform Specialist Skills 2024 (5V0-36.22) 7 Q7. An operator is mapping functions onto the far edge, near edge and central layers of a VMware Telco Cloud Platform 5G deployment. Which two placements match the reference architecture? (Choose two.) a) Internet peering at the near edge, which aggregates the far-edge sites b) Kubernetes cluster management, CI/CD, OSS and the image repository in the central or core layer c) Kubernetes cluster management and CI/CD placed at each far-edge site beside the RAN d) Internet peering at each far-edge radio site e) Central monitoring and OSS at the near edge Q8. Which component in the Telco Cloud Automation late-binding stack is responsible for discovering the hardware capabilities of an ESXi host? a) The Helm client that installs the CNF charts b) The ESXInfoController c) The Kubernetes control plane of the workload cluster d) Cluster API in the Tanzu Kubernetes Grid management cluster Q9. A Telco Cloud Platform site has a management vCenter Server, whose cluster hosts the Tanzu Kubernetes Grid management cluster, and a compute vCenter Server for the CNF workload clusters. One TCA-CP already controls the compute vCenter Server, and the architect notes that no network functions will run in the management domain. Following the reference architecture, how should the TCA-CP layout be completed? a) Leave the management cluster without a TCA-CP because no network functions run there b) Let TCA Manager control the management vCenter Server itself, without a TCA-CP c) Deploy a second TCA Manager in the management domain to control that vCenter Server d) Deploy a dedicated TCA-CP to control the management cluster, separate from the TCA-CP that serves the compute vCenter Server Q10. An architect is deciding where to attach the network interfaces of TCA Manager and the TCA-CP appliances at a Telco Cloud Platform site, so that the appliances can reach vCenter Server and the other infrastructure they work with. Which placement follows the reference architecture design? a) An NSX overlay segment created for each Tanzu Kubernetes workload cluster b) The SR-IOV data-plane network used by user-plane CNFs c) A shared LAN segment that the VIM already uses for its management communication d) The vMotion VMkernel network shared by the ESXi hosts Answer key Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4 Q5 Q6 Q7 Q8 Q9 Q10 a b c a d a a, b b d c www.vmexam.com VMware 5V0-36.22 VMware Telco Cloud Platform Specialist Skills 2024 (5V0-36.22) 8 SECTION 07 Where to Go Next Broadcom’s certification page links to the VCP community, Learning@Broadcom and the official training catalogue, and the TCA documentation on techdocs is the reference for every "identify the characteristics of" objective.
