Linda, Coady, I'm going to be straight with you, because plain talk is what's been missing here. First, where you're right. Our communication on this has been poor. You had to chase us, you were promised callbacks you didn't get, and you sat waiting days for answers. That's on us. I told Coady that on the phone today and I'll say it again. You actually never got around to telling me directly on the phone that you were wrong for this at all, this is a lie. On the claim number: we don't issue separate claim numbers. Everything is tracked against your job number, #7100, and a claim gets added to that same ticket. That should have been explained to you clearly the fi rst time you asked instead of fi ve times later. Yes, failure Now here's what I think actually happened, and I'd ask you to sit with it before you go further. I don’t need to sit with anything The smaller pieces are more than likely still boxed. There Is no “more then likely”, I can tell you as a matter of factual truth that I have combed through everything and every single box multiple times, top to bottom, emptied out, fi lled back in and re-taped, whether that was when we packed it all into a uhaul from sentinel storage or unpacked to my destination in Nova Scotia. And as of right now it’s completely unpacked of every box for another time and there is no room for debate or error of what I can see that isn’t there, clearly. Our crew packed loose belongings from all over that unit into boxes, yet you didn’t in totality and you even con fi rmed us how you guys left loose personal belonging of mine in the unit to be disposed and you haven't fi nished unpacking them so you’re going to have the audacity to call me out and tell me I just haven’t looked everywhere yet? Are you calling me stupid Harry? Wouldn’t I haven’t to be to brush over such an obvious thing to do on this matter? Like how dare you even feel the need to say this, it’s an insult to my intelligence I’d expect a good number of the items on your list to turn up as you work through them and I'd ask you to open every box before concluding anything is gone. I concluded this on the fi rst day I laid eyes on my items as I packed them into a Uhaul truck and combed through them as I went as I already explained The larger items were more than likely left behind, and left behind because they weren't on the inventory. Harry my mother told you guys verbally on the phone 10-15 items of importance not to miss, so you’re telling me the only items you guys had known responsibility to take where that small list of “important things” my mother just happened to mention over the phone and that’s what your holding us to now? You were assigned you move out 100 percent of someone’s belongings from a unit, how complicated can you make this. Harry there must of been in total, who knows, if you wanna break this down, 500 to 1000 items in total of all my belongings I could start typing out in some big master list, I could begin saying every shirt I had, every different type of fork I had, every blanket, every chair, every Toiletry, every picture, every cup, etc etc etc etc, you get the picture, but I didn’t did I? Maybe because I assumed you guys had common sense and just knew to remove and take all of my things... Yet outside of that simple 10-15 important item list you sure got things like my spoons for example but that wasn’t on “the list” was it? So how does a spoon make its way to my storage that wasn’t listed, yet my 6’x8’ $420 rug under my sectional that was actually one of the “important items” my mom mentioned to “really not forget” never show up? Explain that, this is pathetic, tell me where my mother was told oh you better write out to us line by line, item by item, every single object and thing I had in my property and procession, because I guess if not, well it’s just up in the air and the choice of your movers if they wanna bring, guess they put my spoons over heavy importance as opposed to 6x8 fl oor rug, GIVE ME A BREAK A crew walking into a suite nobody is standing in has one document telling them what leaves and what stays. You were told take everything, Harry you run a MOVING COMPANY, stop playing dumb here or as if this is such a complicated matter for your movers to have the processing power to fi gure this out, THE ONLY THINGS THAT WERENT MINE IN THAT ENTIRE UNIT WERE AS FOLLOWS: kitchen appliances, washer/dryer, light fi xtures hardwired from ceiling, kitchen cabinetry directly above stove (obviously), mirror above the dual sinks in the bathroom, doors on the frames, do I need to dwell on... If something isn't on it - a rug under a sectional, YET THIS VERY RUG WAS ON EVEN THAT SHORT LIST an umbrella on a deck, yet you couldn't comprehend, by looking left to right on the other decks, that an umbrella that's sitting fl at on the deck fl oor that had ikea writing on it, was or wasn't part of the unit, yet my unlisted spoons made it shelving on a wall - the reasonable assumption is it belongs to the unit. Whose reasonable assumption?, so let Me get this straight With one example, I had three 3ft wide smart blinds above my deck door, they don’t even require tools to take down, they literally snap into brackets via holding them at an angle with one’s hands, your “reasonable assumption” was to take one of the 3 identical looking smart blinds all mounted next to each other over lapping each other, all that was brought was one of the 3, the other two are MIA, that’s reasonable to you is it Harry? Just one of those blinds, one of them costs the amount you offered to settle this whole issue with to me, your $300 insult of an offer That isn't theft. That's a crew working from the only listthey were given. i never said anything about theft speci fi cally harry. whatever happened between point a and b, it really doesn't matter to me at all. Sure theft can be one option or one of a few compounded reasons to the totality of it all, but I don’t have those answers or knowledge And that's the part I need to be fi rm about. We move what's on the inventory. The items on the inventory we were given, we moved. I already spoke to this lazy excuse Instructions phoned in to the crew during the day - take this too, grab that off the wall, don't forget this - are a separate thing. Lazy excuse There are no recordings of those calls. I don't know what was said, who said it, or what was agreed to. Moving day is chaotic enough, and I'm not going to hold a crew responsible for a verbal list that grew over the course of the day on top of the written one. That's exactly why we recommend somebody be on site to supervise. As for anything left in the suite please do tell me Harry what was this “anything left” where’s your list for that after your movers informed my mom they got everything after we drove away: what the building did with it during turnover is between you and the building. If they kept it or disposed of it, I have no say in that and no control over it, and I won't pretend otherwise. Now, if after all that you're still telling me the items left that unit and never arrived at Sentinel Storage, then what you're describing is a theft. You can put whatever word you want to put to it man, I never said theft, sure that’s an option, if you wanna put it out there, I don’t care to be honest what happened I just want a result right now That isn't a customer service complaint. Actually overall this being a customer service complaint is one component of it now seeing as how I’ve been treated and you even admitted yourself to how I’ve been poorly treated That's a police matter and it should be reported and investigated and I’ll be doing just that I mean that seriously, and so do I since the fi rst time I mentioned to you I’ll be bringing this to the police not as a brush-off. Can’t say I trust this, all you guys do is brush me off Report it will do I will cooperate fully with whoever investigates. yet you can’t cooperate with me I don't believe our movers took anything. I never said they did, but it sure it one avenue, the avenue I’ve always leaned more into this entire time is their negligence of just leaving my things in the unit which you have even already admitted to, what was that quote? Something about how “all personal belongings that were left in my unit were disposed of into the building garbage”....ya that was it That isn't who we hire and it isn't how we operate. Yet it literally is Here's what our own records show, and I'll hand all of it to you or to the police: oh wow what stone cold hard records are these that you just typed out Harry - Every truck is video-recorded when it returns to the yard. The video from your job shows the box empty. Nothing left inside. - The GPS on that truck shows one route that day: your building, a 36-minute lunch stop, then Sentinel Storage. No other stops and no detours. S o let me say again, I dunno why your feeling a need to defend theft so much here when I didn’t even mainly point to this as a reason ever, “your records” don’t mean anything and don’t even speak to the main reason I believe my things went missing anyway On the wall-mounted items: if our crew took things off walls, they broke our procedure doing it. Harry, you do realize like every single framed photo I had hung up on my wall was put there with two screws, on left and right to level them, you do realize EVERYTHING HAD THE SAME AMOUNT OF MOUNTS, My guess is they were trying to give you a hand. What?... It's still not what they're supposed to do and I'll be having that conversation with them. But a crew bending a rule to help you doesn't add up to a crew stealing from you. Again why do you keep talking about stealing? So here is how I'd like to end this. There are two roads and you can pick either one. The fi rst is $300, and you don't have to prove a thing to get it. Let me show you my math on that, because I'd rather be straight with you than have you think I'm lowballing you for sport. I can't come close to $3,300. That isn't me being dif fi cult, it just isn't possible. Your job came to $2,590 before tax. Once crew wages, fuel, the truck, insurance and overhead come off it, this company clears somewhere around ten percent. That's about $260 on your move. Harry this is so incomparable And apple to Oranges, I could care so much Less about your pro fi ts and your mismanaging and horrible ethics and workers, this is dusgusting, YOU LOST CLOSE TO $4000 OF MY STUFF, WE ALREADY PAID YOU $2600 TO DO THIS HORRIBLE JOB, so after you broke even you’re up $260 and I’m out a total of $6600 and you wanna hit me with $300, THIS IS AN INSULT. So $300 is every dollar we made on your job, and over $3300 is what you lost on me and then some. and then some is right I'm happy to make nothing on a move a customer is unhappy with - that's fair and I can live with it. And I’d be happy to pay $2600 to a moving company when they bring all my belongings What I'm not going to do is take a loss on it. But it’s okay for me to have To take a loss of $3300 of my property From your companies own negligence behaviours? I'm not trying to make money off you, neither am I trying to make money off you, I’m here literaly lowering myself to accept just ONE THIRD in payment to what you loss or off any upset customer, but I'm also not going to pretend I can write a cheque I can't write. But but don’t you have insurance? And yes, you’re right, I’d like that check real, not pretend It isn't a settlement of your claim and I won't insult you by calling it one. It's for the way this was handled after the move - the ignored calls, the callbacks that never came, the twenty times you had to phone us to be heard. That part is real so my belongings going lost due to your moving company isn’t real? and it's ours, and I'm not going to make you fi ght me for it. I don’t even have words for that Look, I'm not going to force you to take your reviews down. Oh like you had an option to sweep this under the rug?, thanks Harry for letting me voice my opinion to the public and not hiding this That's yours to write and I won't argue with you about it. Share what you want to share. Oh thank you But if you take the $300 I’ll take that plus 700 , I need it to actually close the matter. I'll send you a short agreement saying you raised these issues, we addressed them, and the claim on job #7100 is settled. You sign it, the money goes out, and we're done. You put that to $1000 and I sign it and we never talk again, in fact in good faith I will remove all reviews and opinions posted in their entirely And if you feel we dealt with you fairly in the end, I'd ask you - not require you - to go back to what you've already posted and add that we came to a resolution. Leave the rest of it standing if you like. I just think anybody reading it deserves the whole story rather than half of it. Or it will be non existent online if you do less then the bare minimum, which is my request of a $1000 If you don't think that's fair, that's genuinely fi ne, and here's the second road. Report it to the police. In the process at this very moment Ask Sentinel for their camera footage from that afternoon. That’s irrelevant when you left my belongings in my apartment If it comes back that our movers took your belongings, I will pay you $4,000 - $3,300 for the items and $700 for the trouble. If it was us, you deserve to be made whole and I'll make you whole. I'll put my money where my mouth is. you talk like your movers stealing stuff is the only option here that could be to blame when that's not even the reason I was leaning to nor does it even matter to me of what mode of negligence happened, all i can do is speculate. you are the ones in charge. how would i ever know? i just saw the end result. What I'm not going to do is sit in between the two. You're accusing my people of theft, sir you brought up theft, I’ve just accused negligence and I take that seriously do you?... ’ - seriously enough that I won't quietly buy my way out of it like it's a scratch on a dresser. Either this is a service complaint we close out properly, then write that check and close it out or it's a criminal matter for the police to investigate which it’s about to become sans that $1000 check it can't be both. You got that right Harry Either way, I'd ask you for two things: open the rest of those boxes. ....oh harry, if only Harry Yadav Last Stop Moving
