IMPACT! is a daily gathering designed to share the love of Christ through high-energy music, fun activities, and a contemporary message designed for youth. Campers will have the time of their lives while building community, making new friends, and experiencing God in a powerful way. This is included for all camps and staffed in conjunction with pastors from The Salvation Army Ministries. ENGAGE! In addition to our regular daily activities, each week, campers will be packed with hands-on experiences designed to capture their imagination and attention. No matter what the subject, we make sure that camps are age appropriate. So, even if your child does not have a specific interest in that week's specialty, they will still enjoy many of the games, activities and projects that have been planned with them in mind. ENJOY! Each week will involve an on site or offsite field trip that compliments the weekly theme. Please note there is no late drop off or early pick up on field trip days. CHRISTIAN CHARACTER CURRICULUM During our chapels, campers are introduced to positive age-appropriate accounts from the Bible that convey examples of character development. SUMMER CAMP 2022 ECREDSHIELD.ORG | SUMMER CAMP 2020 7 DROP-OFF & PICK-UP PROCEDURES Drop-off occurs at the main entrance be- tween 8AM and 8:45AM. Pick-up for all campers occurs at the main entrance be- tween 3:30PM and 5PM. Parents arriving after 9am for drop-off or prior to 4pm for pick-up will need to report to Guest Services to sign their child in or out. Please leave enough time, as pick-up may occur in the middle of an activity on the other end of campus. Campers must be signed in and out of camp each day by an authorized adult in the presence of Salvation Army staff. Par- ents and authorized adults must be at least 18 years of age and present current photo I.D. when signing their camper(s) out. Chil- dren will be released only to those listed as authorized to pick-up. Valid forms of ID include: State I.D., Driver’s License, Military I.D., or Passport. All changes to the list of adults authorized to sign out a child must be completed on the Change of Authorization form by the parent who enrolled the child in camp. Please be prepared to show identification when mak- ing changes. LATE PICK-UP A $1 per minute late fee is charged for each minute a child remains at camp past 5PM. Please allow plenty of time in anticipation of traffic or volume of parents at the Day Camp sign-out table. If the child is not picked up by 5:30pm, and staff is unable to reach the parents or guardians, Child Protective Ser- vices may be contacted. Deposits are not transferable between ses- sions. Deposits can be made online and in person at the Salvation Army East County Red Shield Community Center. Fees: Payment in full is due one week pri- or to the start of each camp, or registration and deposit are forfeited. Parents may rein- state enrollment pending space availability. Payment may be made by debit card, credit card or cash. Checks are not accepted for payment. Sibling Discount: For families with more than one child an automatic discount is pro- vided.. All siblings will be charged at a rate of $50 per week. REFUND POLICY, CANCELLATIONS, & TRANSFER REQUESTS Refund & Cancellation Policies: No cash or credit card refunds are issued unless a Day Camp session is canceled by the Sal- vation Army. Cancellation credits will be issued and distributed directly to the par- ticipant. Credits are: applicable towards any Salva- tion Army Community Center program, not redeemable for cash, will not be put on any credit card account, and do not expire. Please allow for one to two weeks for your credit request to be processed. Cancellation at least one week prior to the start of the camp session: full credit on a Salvation Army credit toward Salvation Army programs minus the $25 non-refund- able deposit fee. Cancellation less than one week prior to the start of the camp session: no credit will be issued. No prorated credits will be issued for camp- er partial attendance, missed days due to illness, behavioral issues, or any other rea- son. 2022 ECREDSHIELD.ORG | SUMMER CAMP 2020 9 STAFF & SAFETY It takes a special person to be a counselor for our campers, your kids. Camp Counselors have to be energetic, enthusiastic, fun—but also trained to respond quickly and efficiently in any situation. Your child’s safety is our number one priority. SIGN UP TODAY! REGISTER FOR CAMP ONLINE WWW.ECREDSHIELD.ORG CAMPER CODE OF CONDUCT 1. Campers must stay with their age group and be accompanied by a counselor during all camp ac- tivities. 2. Campers must remain with camp staff members at all times unless checked-out by an authorized adult with photo I.D. 3. Camp attendees are expected to respect peers, The Salvation Army Community Center staff and the facility at all times. 4. The use of foul language, abusive actions, and in- appropriate behavior is prohibited. 6. Alcohol and/or drugs are not allowed anywhere on the premises or at any location where camp is taking place. 7. Bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, scooters or pets (excluding service animals) will not be allowed inside the facility. 8. Shirt and shoes must be worn in all areas. Any logos or messages on clothing must be accept- able in a family setting. 9. The Salvation Army staff reserves the right to dismiss a camper without a refund who does not meet behavior expectations. PARENT INFORMATION KEY SAFETY GUIDELINES • All staff members will receive training in child safety. • Staff are trained for emergency procedures at each camp location. • There will be a 1:10 counselor to child ratio at minimum, at all times. The names of the campers will be kept on staff at all times and “check-ins” will be required between each activity. • Camp staff will be equipped with a communica- tion device, first aid kits, as well as all emergency information needed for each participant. • A list of medications and allergies will be on camp staff at all times. Emergency contact in- formation will remain on staff no matter the ac- tivity. Walkie-talkis will be allotted to multiple staff members for emergency purposes and to remain in contact with the Camp Manager. HEALTHY CAMPER • Cleaning all high touch areas frequently. • Practicing good hygiene with our campers re- garding restroom and eating habits. • Having a 'healthy' practice. No children with a fever or symptoms of illness will be permitted at camp. • Providing nutritious, balanced meals and snacks. • Minimizing screen time and prioritizing active play. 2022 10 SUMMER CAMP 2020 | WWW.ECREDSHIELD.ORG How Does Lunch/Snack Work? Lunch and a morning and afternoon snack are provid- ed to each camper free of cost! If a camper is a picky eater, has allergies or has dietary restrictions, we encourage parents to pack a lunch from home. Our daily schedules are very flexible and vary depending upon the activities planned for your child’s camp. The typical time frame for lunch is thirty minutes between 11:30 am. and 1:30 pm. What if My Child Needs to Take Medica- tion During Camp Hours? We are happy to assist your child with their medical needs. Medication(s) must be in their original pre- scription container with the child’s name printed on the label and placed in a plas- tic bag. Please check-in the medication at the Red Shield Guest Services Desk and complete a Medical Information Sheet. Sal- vation Army staff will not dispense non-pre- scription medications without written pa- rental consent. What Happens if My Child Gets Sick or Injured? If a camper is too ill or hurt to con- tinue their camp day, parents will be imme- diately contacted. For minor scrapes and bruises, Day Camp staff will complete a Re- port to Parent (RTP) form to notify parents of the event at pick-up time. Electronic Devices We encourage campers to leave their elec- tronic devices at home, as we cannot be held liable if: lost, stolen, or damaged. Devices are not permitted during camp hours.
