INTRODUCTION Construction activities undertaken during night working hours pr esent additional operational and safety challenges compared with normal daytime operations. Reduced natural visibility, worker fatigue, limited public visibility, increased reliance on artificial lighting, plant and vehicle movements, simultaneous operatio ns (SIMOPS), and emergency response considerations require enhanced planning, supervision, and control measures to ensure that work is executed safely and efficiently. This Night Shift Work Procedure has been developed by ABYATONA Contracting Company to es tablish a comprehensive management framework for all construction activities undertaken during approved night working hours for the Expo 2030 Riyadh Project. The procedure defines the minimum planning, authorization, operational, inspection, quality, envir onmental, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) requirements necessary to execute night work in full compliance with project contractual obligations. The procedure shall be implemented for all permanent works, temporary works, utility works, infrastructur e works, civil works, structural works, architectural works, MEP activities, logistics operations, inspections, testing, commissioning, and any other project activities authorized to be undertaken during night working hours. Night work shall only be undert aken where operationally justified and after formal approval by the Engineer/PMC through the approved Permit to Work (PTW) system. Prior to commencement of any night shift activities, all associated hazards shall be identified through approved Method State ments, Risk Assessments (MSRA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Traffic Management Plans (TMP), Mobile Equipment and Personnel Interface (MEPI) assessments, Temporary Works requirements, and other applicable project control documents. ABYATONA is committed to e nsuring that all night work activities are executed with the same level of quality, safety, environmental protection, and engineering control as daytime operations. Adequate supervision, competent personnel, approved equipment, temporary lighting systems, emergency preparedness, communication arrangements, welfare facilities, and inspection regimes shall be maintained throughout the duration of night shift operations. This procedure establishes the mandatory requirements for: • This procedure establishes the minimum mandatory requirements for the planning, authorization, execution, supervision, inspection, and completion of night shift activities to ensure compliance with project quality, health, safety, environmental, and contractual obligations.
