Every Christmas Eve, she would find a dark soul, and help him find love in his heart. One such night involved a man you might have heard of, Mr. Ebenezer Scrooge. Years after he was visited by the three ghosts, he had fallen back into his old ways, underpaying employees; that’s where this story begins. 17 “Howard,” said Mr. Scrooge, “do you actually think I’m going to give you a Christmas bonus this year? You must think I have a heart of gold! Those three ghosts were nothing but a part of my imagination, I don’t believe it was real for a second. The purpose of life is to trick, steal and gain wealth at all costs!” “But Mr. Scrooge,” said Howard, “don’t you believe in showing kindness at least once a year?” “Not in the least!” Gertrude had great observational skills stemming from her interest in Psychology, and she used it to help her understand the minds of corrupt men. She indeed had heard of Scrooge and that he had fallen back into a dark lifestyle. 18 “Mom,” said Gertrude, “I need my costume ready in 10 minutes.” “No problem,” her mother responded. Gertrude’s superhero name was Splendra the Great, she saw it fitting in that she fought for making the world a splendid place. Her costume was a bright green summer dress, as green as a Christmas Tree, with a red mask just over her eyes; she was able to stand extreme cold well. Then, getting upon her white stallion, she rode to scrooge’s house. Picking the lock, she confronted the man. Using a commanding and intimidating voice, she said, “Mr. Scrooge, I am Splendra the Great, and I hear you have fallen back into a life of greed.”
