Having something playing in the background just makes everything a little lighter. It can lift your mood instantly. But in the chase for distraction and a lighter mood, many wear earphones for hours, sometimes at high volumes, which can silently damage our hearing over time. Well done Read on hindusctan times Welcome aboard Business Newsletter Crafted by : Jailesh Raggoo The journey of becoming an audiologist and speech therapist is both challenging and deeply rewarding. At Soft Hear, this journey transforms into a meaningful experience where knowledge meets compassion, and skills are used to change lives every single day. My journey at Soft Hear began with a strong desire to help individuals struggling with hearing and communication difficulties. Entering this field, I realized that audiology and speech therapy are not just professions—they are responsibilities that directly impact a person’s quality of life. At Soft Hear, I gained hands-on experience in assessing hearing loss using advanced diagnostic tools. From pure tone audiometry to impedance testing, each evaluation helped me understand the unique needs of every patient. Recommending and fitting hearing aids became more than just a technical task—it became a way to reconnect people with the world around them. As a speech therapist, my role extended beyond diagnosis. I worked closely with patients suffering from conditions such as aphasia, dysarthria, delayed speech, and voice disorders. Each therapy session required patience, creativity, and empathy. Designing personalized therapy plans and witnessing gradual improvements in patients’ communication skills was incredibly fulfilling. One of the most important lessons I learned at Soft Hear is the importance of patient-centered care. Every individual has a different story, and understanding their emotional and psychological needs is just as important as treating their clinical condition. Building trust with patients and their families plays a key role in successful rehabilitation. The supportive environment at Soft Hear also contributed significantly to my professional growth. Working alongside experienced audiologists and therapists allowed me to enhance my clinical skills, improve my diagnostic accuracy, and stay updated with the latest advancements in the field. Challenges were a part of the journey too. Some patients showed slow progress, and at times, it required extra effort and motivation to keep them engaged. However, these challenges taught me resilience, problem-solving, and the true value of perseverance. Today, I can confidently say that my journey at Soft Hear has shaped me into a more skilled and compassionate professional. It has not only improved my clinical abilities but also strengthened my communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills. In conclusion, being an audiologist and speech therapist at Soft Hear is more than just a career—it is a journey of learning, growth, and making a real difference in people’s lives. Every smile from a patient, every word spoken clearly for the first time, and every sound heard again is a reminder of why I chose this path.
