Intern Position Descriptions 2019/2020 Queen’s Health Outreach is now accepting applications from Queen’s undergraduate and graduate students of any faculty interested in participating as an Intern for QHO. Interns shadow an Executive Member/POD and assist QHO with the daily tasks of operating a functioning registered charity. QHO will be hiring a total of 4 interns for the following positions for 2019-2020 Research Intern (1) The Research Intern is a new position for the 2019-2020 year. This intern will work closely with the General Co-Directors to establish an organized record of QHO’s history and origins from previous work with past and current partnerships. This will be a very self-guided position and requires a motivated individual with excellent written communication skills and some data analysis experience. The intern is expected to attend all biweekly executive team meetings, and meet weekly with the General Co-Directors. Education Intern (1) The Education Intern will assist the Education Directors in planning and organizing Education sessions and the Winter Retreat in order to aid in the preparation of Peer Educators for initiative. The intern will collaborate with the Education Directors in developing new approaches to prepare Peer Educators for initiative while keeping in mind QHO’s goals and core values. The intern must be present at all weekly Education sessions to take notes, provide any feedback and aid in discussion. They must also attend all biweekly executive team meetings. Fundraising Intern (1) The Fundraising Intern will work closely with the Fundraising Director to organize and attend QHO wide fundraising events. The Fundraising Intern will also collaborate with initiatives to support initiative specific fundraisers. The Fundraising Intern may also have the opportunity to transition into the Fundraising Director role in the Winter Term. The intern is expected to attend office hours with the Fundraising Director, and attend all biweekly executive team meetings as well. Finance Intern (1) The Finance Intern will work alongside the Finance Director aiding with all aspects of the finance side of Queen’s Health Outreach. Additionally, the intern may receive a small guided project that they may work on throughout the year to help better the organization and enhance their abilities in this field. This position provides a great opportunity to get involved with QHO and learn about the daily functioning of a registered charity, while peaking this individual’s interest in finance and related fields. The intern is expected to attend all biweekly executive team meetings as well.
