These operating instructions form an integral part of this Portable Propane Heater (hereafter referred to only as the heater).They contain important instructions on safety,use and disposal of the heater.Please familiarise yourself with all operating and safety instructions before using the heater.Only use the heater as described and for the stated purpose.If the heater is passed on to a third party,please provide all documents to the third party together with the heater. It must be used in accordance with the instructions and safety warnings contained in this manual and may not be used for any other purpose.It is designed for DIY use only and is not suitable for commercial or heavy duty use,such use may damage your appliance and invalidate your warranty.Neither the manufacturer nor the retailer can accept any responsibility for injury,loss or damage caused by misuse of this heater of any kind.Examples of misuse are given in the following non-exhaustive list: · Use of the heater for any other than its intended purpose · Non-observance of the safety warnings and instructions as well as the assembly. · Non-observance of any applicable health,safety and accident prevention regulations concerning the use of this heater. · Use of accessories or spare parts that are not suitable for the heater. · Use of the heater in modified form. · Commercial or otherwise excessive use Anyone who operates or services the heater must be familiar with these instructions and must be aware of possible dangers.This heater may only be used by a competent person-in case of doubt seek training or advice from an expert. Non-observance of the safety,assembly and operating instructions while operating the heater counts as misuse.Any applicable health and safety regulations must be followed.Any other applicable local and national legislation must also be followed. The heater may not be modified as modifications may cause damage or injury. General safety instructions RISK OF SUFFOCATION AND CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING.The appliance may only be used outdoors. a) Do not touch any hot parts of the appliance. Let the device cool down fully before putting it away. b) CAUTION:Accessible parts may be very hot. Keep young children away from the appliance. c) Check the leaking with soap water after connecting the appliance to the gas cylinder.Never check the leak with flames. d) Do not use the appliance if it has damaged or worn seals. e) Do not use an appliance that is leaking,damaged or which does not operate properly. f) DO NO do the checking procedure,or attach and detach the fuel cylinder near open flames,pilot flames,or other high heat sources such as electrical cooking 5 devices,and keep distance with highly combustible materials such as gasoline,where accidentally released fuel gas can cause fire disaster. g) This device must be operated at a safe distance from inflammable substances.Maintain a safe distance from inflammable materials. Keep at least 0.5 meters of distance to the sides of and 1 meter above the appliance. h) The appliance must be used on a flat,level and stable surface. i) Never use the appliance without its stand. j) Do not leave the appliance unattended. k) Smoking is prohibited when handling the gas cartridge. l) If there is a leak on your appliance (smell of gas),take the device outdoors immediately to a well-ventilated location away from sources of ignition,where the leak can be safely detected and repaired. Take the appliance outdoors before checking for leaks.Never check for leaks using a flame;always use a soapy solution or a leak detection spray! m) If the appliance is not to be used over longer periods,keep it in a safe,cool,dry and well ventilated place out of the reach of children. n) The gas cartridge must be detached if the appliance is not to be used over longer periods,or if it is to be transported. o) Never try to repair the appliance by yourself. If a repair is necessary,contact the manufacturer's customer service or a similarly qualified person. Before using the product Checking the product and pack contents 1.Take the heater out of the packaging. 2.Check that the delivery is complete (see section:“List of contents and features”) 3.Check whether the heater or any of its individual parts are damaged. 4.If this is the case,do not use the heater.Contact the GasCalorix customer service. Connecting the heater to a CGA600 Propane Gas Cylinder This appliance shall only be used with a USA standard CGA600 propane non-refillable gas cartridge.It may be hazardous to attempt to fit other types of gas containers. 6 Proceed as follows to connect the heater to a gas cartridge: · Inspect and ensure the cylinder valve ⑨ and appliance valves are both in good condition. · Ensure that the gas regulator ③ is closed. · The threads on the pressurized gas cylinder and appliance valve are right handed threads. Screw the gas cartridge B clockwise onto the appliance valve ⑨ until the seal is airtight.Do not use tools for this connection. · Ensure that the connection is airtight.To do this,spray a soapy solution or a leak detection spray onto the connection between the cartridge valve 12 and the appliance valve10.If bubbles appear,the device is leaking. 7 · If gas escapes from the system(smell of gas or formation of bubbles during the leakage test),take the system outdoors immediately to a well-ventilated location away from sources of ignition where the leak can be safely detected and repaired. Take the device outdoors before checking for leaks.Never check for leaks using a flame;always use a soapy solution or a leak detection spray!Keep the appliance under observation until the gas has escaped from it fully. Connecting the heater to the stand The stand is specially designed for USA standard CGA600 propane.Using other types of gas containers is dangerous and forbidden. · Swivel all four feet G of the stand ⑤ outwards. The device is now assembled. · Connect the heater to the stand ⑤ by pushing the gas cartridge ④ firmly into the stand Using the product Never use this appliance without its stand. Never leave the appliance unattended. 8 Lighting the heater /adjusting the flame Proceed as follows to light the appliance and adjust the flame: · Place the heater outdoor on a flat,level and stable surface,well away from any inflammable materials.Pay special attention to the safety instructions above. · Open the gas regulator ③ by turning approx. 1/4 turn in an anti-clockwise direction and ignite the heater using a gas lighter as shown. · Rotate the gas regulator in the (+)plus or(-) minus direction (in an anti-clockwise or clockwise direction)to adjust the heat output. · To switch off the heater,turn the gas regulator clockwise in order to close the valve. Removing /changing the gas cartridge This This device can only be used with the American standard CGA600 propane refillable gas cylinder. Attempting to install other types of gas containers may pose a danger. Change the gas cartridge outside and away from people! If the heater is cold or operated with a new gas cartridge an irregular, unstable flame can be produced or ‘flaring’ may occur.This is normal and does not indicate a fault.The flame will stabilize within 2-3 minutes after the heater has warmed up. COLD WEATHER OPERATION: In cold weather operation, the flame will be smaller. To produce a larger flame, pre-warm the cylinder to room temperature prior to use. Please DO NOT overheat. Shaking the gas cylinder a few times to warm the gas will help. ALWAYS KEEP CYLINDER UPRIGHT. 9 · Shut the valve by turning the gas regulator ③ clockwise. · Check that the burner is extinguished before disconnecting the gas container. · Let the appliance cool down completely for approx.15 minutes · Unscrew the gas cartridge ④ from the Appliance valve ⑨ by turning it anti-cock wise. · Check the seals before connecting a new gas container to the appliance. · Connect the new gas cartridge to the device as described in the"Connecting the heater to a CGA600 Propane Gas Cylinder"section Maintenance,cleaning,storage and transport Maintenance · The heater requires minimal upkeep. However, it is important to routinely inspect the valves labeled ⑧ and ⑨ · Avoid making any modifications to the appliance. · Should you encounter any malfunctions, it is advised to seek repair services from a qualified professional or reach out to the manufacturer. You can find their contact information on the back cover of the user manual. Cleaning Routinely clean the appliance using a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh cleaning agents, solvents, or petroleum-based products. Refrain from immersing or spraying the device with water or any other liquid. It is essential to maintain the heater, especially the valves, in a clean state, free from dust accumulation. 10 Storageand transport · Store the heater in a safe,cool,dry and well-ventilated place out of the reach of children when not in use. · Protect the gas cartridge from sunlight and never expose it to temperatures above 50 °C .Avoid longtime continuous direct sunlight in storage. · The gas cartridge must be detached if the appliance is not to be used over longer periods,or if it is to be transported. · Avoid any parts of this torch contact with corrosion materials in storage. In general,all national regulations regarding operation,transportation and storage must be followed. During periods of longer use, the working pressure progressively decreases as the gas level in the cartridge reduces. This is normal and does not indicate a fault. Replace the gas cartridge if necessary. 11 Recycling Disposal of the packaging Sort the packaging materials according to type and dispose of each separately.Dispose of cardboard as waste paper and shrink wrap via the recyclable material collection service. Disposing of old appliances Worn out appliances must be recycled at a suitable recycling facility.Do not dispose of with the household waste.Contact your local authority for more information. Disposing of the gas cartridge Gas cartridges may only be disposed of when they are empty.Do not puncture/ pierce or incinerate,even after use.Do not dispose of with the household waste. Contact your local authority for more information. WARRANTY INFORMATION Our products provide 1-year warranty. The warranty does not cover damage caused by: 1.Accident or unanticipated events (e.g.lightning,water,fire). 2.Improper use or transport. 3.Disregard the safety and maintenance instructions. 4.Other improper treatment or modification. Great care has gone into the manufacture of this product and it should therefore provide you with years of good service when used properly.In the event of a product failure within its intended use over the first 1 year after the date of purchase, we will remedy the problem as quickly as possible once it has been brought to our attention.In the unlikely event of such an occurrence,or if you require any information about the product,please contact GasCalorix customer service we will provide you with a satisfactory solution.
