In this context, MSF is recruit ing Nurses O BJECTIVES OF THE P OSITION Providing nursing care, treatment and follow - up of patients, according to doctors’ prescriptions, protocols ap - plied in service and universal hygiene standards/precautions, in order to ensure the quality and continuity of care for the targeted population T ASK AND R ESPONSIBILITIES • Knowing, promoting, implementing and following up the universal hygiene standards/ precautions, bio - hazard prevention and infection control, security rules and other protocols and procedures in the medical premises and ensuring high standards of hygiene of his/her working environment. Respecting medical secrets and confidentiality at all times. • Organizing and carrying out care and treatments according to medical prescriptions, and assisting duri ng consultations, daily rounds and other medical procedures. Participating in health education of the patient (and family) when necessary. • Identifying Sexually Gender Based Violence victims and referring them to the medical team so they can receive the ne cessary treatment. Knowing and is aware of the importance and appropriate use of the Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) Kit • Ensuring patients are properly received and installed and that those with lack of autonomy are assisted, especially regarding their fee ding, personal hygiene, movements and comfort. For ER and OPD nurse, ensuring triage of patients in waiting areas, wards or during emergencies, detecting the priority acute/emergency cases, carrying out first aid care and referring them to the docto r when necessary • Sending material to be sterilized and recuperates it from sterilization • Carrying out admission, surveillance and follow - up of patients (i.e. assessment of the evolution of their state of health and the identification of any emergency situation or deterioration • Carrying and supervising administrative procedures and documents (fill in patient’s files, forms, consumptions, statistics, r egisters, health files, etc.), ensuring an appropriate written/oral handover, and reporting any problematic situatio ns and cases that may arise. Participating in data collection and keeping doctors/supervisors informed. • Participating in the department - related pharmacy and medical equipment control and maintenance (quality and its functioning, storage conditions, follow - up of expired drugs inventories, stock takes of medicines and material at every team changeover ensuring no material is taken out of nursing area/wards without prior authorisation, etc.) • Perform cleaning and minor maintenance for biomedical equipment used . Following the user manual and protocols and alert supervisor in case of malfunctioning. • Supervising and training nurse - aids, nutritional assistants, cleaners and other related staff under his/her supervision, ensuring teamwork and adherence to all appro priate protocols and procedures MSF S ECTION /C ONTEXT S PECIFIC A CCOUNTABILITIES General Care planning and implementation: Nurses are responsible for developing and implementing individual care plans for patients based on their asses sment and medical orders. Assist patient in daily living, such as bathing patients, feeding, mobility, and positioning for their comfort and safety. Ensure proper handover of all patients and medical equipment with the check list. Perform ing minor maintenance and cleaning of the biomedical equipment following user manual and protocols. Alerting the supervisor in case of malfunctioning of any device. Ensure all the patients file recording properly (such as VS sheet, PEWs score, in/out balan ce sheet, nursing note, etc) following the guidance. Document all procedures, discussions for patient in the Nursing Notes and sign with name. Work closely with the other healthcare providers, such as Doctors, Nurse Aid, Health Promotor, Medical Dispenser, Weight measurer, Registra r, Hygiene Agent, and Stretcher Bearer to provide comprehensive care to patients. Provide health education on the caretakers about the patient’s health condition. Emotional support: nurses provide emotional suport to patients and their families during challenging times, they listen to concerns, provide empathy, and offer guidance to help patients cope with their health conditions and the associated emotional stress, i n good collaboration with mental health team. Inform Health Prom otors, mental health and a sk for support in the case of LAMA. Advocate for patients ensuring their rights, preferences, and needs are respected and met. Always adhere to patient centred care, involving and respecting patient/caretaker in decision making. R eport all medical incidences, errors, adverse events to the NTS/Head Nurse and document accordingly. And any other duty deemed fit by his/her supervisor or line managers ITFC Ensuring proper functioning of the Therapeutic Program. This includes: Calculati ng the quantity of food ne eded for the shift based on the number of children registered on the unit. Carrying out all patient’s related tasks for the admission, weighing and measuring the children, identifying the degree and types of malnutrition, medicati ons and therapeutic foods administration etc. Ensuring that medical and nutritional care is properly delivered to the patients and to daily follow the evolution of the pat ients and careful documentations of all care, in and out takes of the patients. Pro viding advice and inform c hildren’s families about everything concerning the hospitalization, participate in the health education of the mothers and/or treatment process.
