Aug 8 Heritage Mountain Road Clean Up - a monthly clean up of trash and litter along the Road to help our furry and not furry friends. Aug 16 Car Free Day n Port Moody is Sunday Aug 16/2026, 12 PM - 5 PM on St Johns St closing 5 blocks. Port Moody Rotary provides volunteers to serve food, support musicians, and other family friendly activities Aug 21 serving pies at Eagle Ridge Seniors Manor with wonderful local musical programs. Camp Jubilee - summer camp, family camp, 2SLGBTQ camp, Halloween Camp, are supported by Port Moody Rotary. We direct prospective participants to the Camp, and sponsor approximately 30 young people for this wonderful experience in Aug. The Youth exchange program is one of our most important. Teen students who want to spend a summer (or year ) abroad,, can do so as an exchange with another student. They attend our Rotary meetings, help with programs and are a wonderful asset. Some are summer students, others are full year students. Currently we have exchange students with France. Sep 12 Heritage Mountain Road cleanup 9 - 10 AM Rotary members. Sep 18 Pie Day at Eagle Ridge Seniors manor. A monthly party with Port Moody Rotary members, volunteer musicians , and staff. The Terry FOX Marathon of Hope Run, likely Sept 20/26 in Port Moody, is one of the favorites for Port Moody Rotary. The Terry Fox Foundation has raised over $1Billion for cancer research globally , and the Port Moody Rotary is an integral sponsor of the local run. We are proud Canadians supporting Terry and other cancer patients. Innervisions is a local Recovery Society for men and women who need alcohol and/or drug rehabilitation . We have an ongoing friendship with them, and usually have a September BBQ to encourage them with their successes. Interact is a group of Rotary - affiliated students interested in developing leadership skills, awareness of underdeveloped countrys ’ needs, and other issues that can help Rotary International develop. In Port Moody we are concentration on these younger members developing their skills.
