Inside you will find the exam fact sheet, the item types this paper uses that most exams do not, the reason four of its five blueprint sections are empty, all sixty objectives grouped by subject, what the skills pay, a five-step route from VCP-level knowledge to booked seat, and ten sample questions with a full answer key. 60 Items 135 Minutes 300 scaled To pass $250 Fee VMware 3V0-11.26 Certification Guide VCAP-VCF Administrator www.vmexam.com 2 Exam Overview Exam code 3V0-11.26 Exam name Advanced VMware Cloud Foundation 9 Administrator Credential earned VMware Certified Advanced Professional - VMware Cloud Foundation Administrator (VCAP-VCF Admin) Product version VMware Cloud Foundation 9 Questions 60 items Duration 135 minutes of appointment time Passing score 300, on a scaled method Exam fee USD 250 Delivery Proctored, through Pearson VUE Item types Multiple choice, multiple-selection multiple choice, build-list, matching, drag-and-drop, point-and-click and hot-area Prerequisite None stated in the exam guide - see below Exam guide Broadcom’s 3V0-11.26 exam guide, last updated 18 August 2026 The item count, the appointment time, the scaled pass mark, the item types and all sixty objectives come from Broadcom’s own 3V0-11.26 exam guide, last updated 18 August 2026. The fee and the practice detail come from VMExam's 3V0-11.26 syllabus page. Two rows repay a second look. The item types are unusually varied. Broadcom lists multiple choice, multiple-selection multiple choice, build-list, matching, drag-and-drop, point-and-click and hot-area, and says other types may appear less often. A build-list item asks you to put steps in order and a point-and-click item asks you to find something in an interface - neither is answerable by recognising a phrase. And the pass mark is scaled : 300 on a scale that runs to 500, which is not a percentage of sixty items, so there is no target number of correct answers. On the prerequisite, the exam guide is silent. It states no requirement and refers you to the certification website for the full list. Broadcom describes the advanced track as assuming the foundational knowledge the VCP-VCF credential validates, but that is positioning rather than a published gate, so check the current requirement on the VCAP-VCF Administrator certification page before you book. VMware 3V0-11.26 Certification Guide VCAP-VCF Administrator www.vmexam.com 3 One Section, Sixty Objectives VMware standardises every exam blueprint into the same five sections, and notes that some may not appear in a given exam. On this paper, four of the five are empty. Every testable objective sits in Section 4, and the other four sections each carry the same line: no testable objectives this section Section Name In this exam Section 1 IT Architectures, Technologies, Standards No testable objectives Section 2 VMware Products and Solutions No testable objectives Section 3 Plan and Design the VMware Solution No testable objectives Section 4 Install, Configure, Administrate the VMware Solution All 60 objectives Section 5 Troubleshoot and Optimize the VMware Solution No testable objectives That has a practical consequence worth acting on. Section 3 is Plan and Design and Section 5 is Troubleshoot and Optimize, and neither is tested here - so design rationale and formal troubleshooting method are not what this exam is asking for. It wants configuration and administration, described as scenarios. The design paper is a separate exam, and the sibling advanced exams cover storage, networking, automation, operations and vSphere Kubernetes Service in their own right. The other number to notice is the arithmetic: sixty objectives and sixty items . Broadcom does not publish how items map to objectives, so do not assume exactly one question each. But it does mean no objective can be a large block of the paper, and that a subject you have never touched is unlikely to be worth more than a point or two - which is a useful thing to know when you decide what to leave out. The Blueprint, Grouped by Subject NSX networking 13 vSAN and storage 9 VCF Operations 9 vSphere and performance 7 All Apps orgs 6 Provider portal 5 VKS and Supervisor 5 Fleet and SSO 4 Security 2 VMware 3V0-11.26 Certification Guide VCAP-VCF Administrator www.vmexam.com 4 Bars count objectives, not official weightings - VMware publishes none for this exam and lists all sixty in a single flat sequence. The grouping is this guide’s, made to show where the material clusters. Sixty objectives, and a clear centre of gravity. NSX is thirteen of them , more than one in five, and it is the only subject that reaches double figures on its own. vSAN storage and VCF Operations follow at nine each, so those three subjects together are just over half the blueprint. At the other end, vSphere security and encryption is two objectives. The full list follows in Broadcom’s own wording, with its objective numbers kept so you can match them to your score report if you need a retake. Either way the exam is asking what you would do in a running estate, which is why the sample questions below all carry so much situational detail. What These Skills Are Worth Public pay data for VMware work is reported by job title rather than by credential, so the honest way to read it is as a floor. PayScale puts the average for a systems administrator with VMware ESX skills at $77,374, on 880 salary profiles last updated 1 June 2026, with the tenth to ninetieth percentile running from $58,000 to $106,000. The comparison is more informative than the figure. PayScale’s average for systems administrators generally is $73,021 across 6,629 profiles, so the VMware skill is worth roughly four thousand dollars on the average and rather more at the top, where the ninetieth percentile moves from $100,000 to $106,000. Neither number describes the candidate this exam is written for. Broadcom’s minimally acceptable candidate runs a multi-region or multi-organisation private cloud across vCenter, ESX, vSAN, NSX, VCF Automation, VCF Operations and VKS - that is not a systems administrator job title, and the people doing it are not paid from that band. The stronger argument for this credential is scarcity and timing. VCF 9 is recent, Broadcom has rebuilt the VMware certification track around it, and the advanced tier is where an employer looks for proof that someone can run the platform rather than describe it. An operator who can evidence Tier-0 and Tier-1 gateway work, stretched-cluster vSAN, Supervisor lifecycle and fleet upgrades is, for now, a short list in most markets. A Five-Step Route to the Seat Step 1 — Be honest about where you sit relative to VCP-VCF VMware 3V0-11.26 Certification Guide VCAP-VCF Administrator www.vmexam.com 7 Broadcom’s exam guide states no prerequisite and points to the certification website for the full requirements, but the candidate it describes is someone who already runs a multi-region or multi-tenant VCF estate. Broadcom’s own framing of the advanced track is that it assumes the foundational knowledge VCP-VCF validates and then tests practical skill on top. Confirm the current requirement on the certification page before you book, because that is where it is published rather than in the exam guide. Step 2 — Practise the item types, not just the subject matter This is the part candidates underestimate. Alongside ordinary multiple choice, the guide lists multiple-selection multiple choice, build-list, matching, drag-and-drop, point-and-click and hot-area items. Build-list and point-and-click both punish someone who knows the concept but has never performed the task in order or in the actual interface. Sample question three below is a build-list question in disguise: four plausible orderings of the same four steps. Step 3 — Start with NSX, because it is the largest block by a distance Thirteen of the sixty objectives are NSX: Federation, Edge clusters, Tier-0 and Tier-1 gateways, VRF, logical segments, VPCs, DHCP, NAT, projects and tenancy, advanced integrations, and day-to-day operational work like syslog and backup. That is more than one objective in five. If your VCF experience is strong on compute and storage but thin on NSX, this is where the exam will find you out. Step 4 — Give vSAN and VCF Operations equal billing They are nine objectives each. On the vSAN side the exam wants storage policies, stretched clusters, encryption, data protection, cross-cluster capacity sharing and Day 2 work. On the Operations side it wants rightsizing, reclamation, what-if capacity forecasting, cost management, policies, business applications, alerts, and the difference between Business Intent and Operational Intent. Between them those two subjects are almost a third of the blueprint. Step 5 — Book it, and plan the clock around the interactive items Sixty items in 135 minutes is two and a quarter minutes each, and the guide notes that the appointment time includes an allowance for non-native English speakers. Drag-and-drop and hot-area items take longer than a four-option multiple choice, so the real budget on the straightforward items is tighter than the average suggests. The pass mark is 300 on a scaled method, which is not a percentage of sixty, so there is no fixed number of correct answers to aim at. Sample Questions These ten come straight from the VMExam 3V0-11.26 sample set, in a shuffled order. One asks for two answers and offers five options. They are worth studying for their shape as much as their content: every one sets a situation, states constraints, and asks what the administrator should do, which is exactly how the objectives are written. Between them they touch vSAN policy, NSX projects and Edge clusters, workload domain storage, Supervisor services, VCF Operations rightsizing and business applications, fleet lifecycle, and vCenter and CPU performance - a fair spread across the blueprint. The answer key follows. VMware 3V0-11.26 Certification Guide VCAP-VCF Administrator www.vmexam.com 8 Q1. Users report that a reporting VM in a workload domain is slow. In esxtop on its ESX host, the VM shows %RDY of about 38%, %MLMTD of about 36% and %CSTP below 1%. Physical CPU utilization on the host is about 30%, and every other VM on the host shows %RDY below 2%. What is the most likely cause of the VM’s high ready time? a) Co-scheduling delay from more vCPUs than the workload needs b) Host-wide CPU contention from vCPUs overcommitted against physical cores c) A CPU limit configured on the VM d) Low CPU shares compared with the other VMs in its resource pool Q2. An Enterprise Admin is onboarding a business unit as an NSX project. The business unit’s segments need north-south routing through the existing Tier-0 gateway and Edge cluster in the default space. A Tier-1 gateway named t1-shared also exists in the default space. The business unit needs no stateful gateway services, and the environment does not use NSX Federation. Which two actions provide the routing? a) Allocate the default-space Tier-0 gateway and Edge cluster to the project b) Connect the project’s segments to the existing t1-shared Tier-1 gateway c) Create a Tier-0 gateway inside the project on the allocated Edge cluster d) Allocate t1-shared to the project, then attach the project segments to it e) Create a Tier-1 gateway inside the project and connect it to that Tier-0 Q3. A vSAN ESA cluster in a VI workload domain has six ESX hosts, each acting as its own fault domain. A new database VM must stay available through two simultaneous host failures, and the storage team wants the lowest capacity overhead that meets that requirement. Which vSAN storage policy settings should the administrator create and assign to the VM? a) Failure tolerance method RAID-1 (mirroring), Failures to tolerate 2 b) Failure tolerance method RAID-5/6, Failures to tolerate 1 c) Failure tolerance method RAID-5/6, Failures to tolerate 3 d) Failure tolerance method RAID-5/6, Failures to tolerate 2 Q4. In VCF 9.0, an administrator is adding an Operations data node to the VCF Operations cluster from the Components tab under Fleet Management Lifecycle. After triggering an inventory sync and entering the node details, the administrator clicks RUN PRECHECK, and the data validation is not successful. What should the administrator do next? a) Submit the add-node request, let the new node join the cluster, and perform the recommended actions afterwards b) Perform the recommended actions, run the precheck again, and submit after it succeeds c) Change the request to add a replica node instead, avoiding a certificate change on the cluster d) Upgrade VCF Operations from the Components tab, then submit the request VMware 3V0-11.26 Certification Guide VCAP-VCF Administrator www.vmexam.com 9 Q5. A team is building a new VI workload domain whose principal storage will be VMFS on Fibre Channel. Four new ESX hosts are racked and zoned to the array, and a VMFS LUN has been presented to them. No network pool exists yet for these hosts. Which sequence completes the prerequisites and creates the workload domain? a) Create a network pool, commission the hosts as VMFS on FC, mount the VMFS datastore on all four hosts, then create the new workload domain b) Mount the VMFS datastore on all four hosts, create a network pool, commission the hosts as vSAN, then pick VMFS on FC in the domain wizard c) Commission the hosts as VMFS on FC, create a network pool, mount the VMFS datastore on all four hosts, then create the new workload domain d) Mount the VMFS datastore on all four hosts, create a network pool, commission the hosts as VMFS on FC, then create the workload domain Q6. Last month an administrator manually built the Payroll Business Application in VCF Operations, dragging four web VMs into a Web tier and two database VMs into a DB tier. This week the application team deployed two more web VMs with the same naming pattern and vCenter tags. Payroll still shows only four VMs in its Web tier. What explains this, and what should the administrator do? a) Tier membership refreshes only after the next collection cycle, so wait for the cycle to complete and check again b) Tiers select their members by tag, so give the new VMs a Payroll tag category instead of the web tags c) Objects in a manually created tier are static, so edit Payroll and add the two new VMs to the Web tier d) The new VMs have no policy association yet, so assign Payroll’s policy to them and reopen the application Q7. An administrator plans to set up centralized network connectivity for a workload domain, deploying a new NSX Edge cluster on vSphere cluster WLD-02. DNS records for the Edge nodes exist, the Edge management port group can reach NSX Manager, and the cluster has capacity for two Edge nodes. The Edge TEPs will reuse the host TEP VLAN. The ESX hosts in WLD-02 use a vSphere Distributed Switch but have never been configured for NSX. Which prerequisite must the administrator complete before running the Edge cluster workflow? a) Attach a transport node profile to the WLD-02 cluster, so that its ESX hosts are prepared for NSX b) Create the Tier-0 gateway in NSX Manager first, so that the workflow can place the new Edge nodes under that existing gateway c) Allocate a separate Edge TEP VLAN, since Edge TEPs cannot share the VLAN that the host TEPs use d) Deploy one Edge node manually, then let the workflow clone it to build out the rest of the cluster VMware 3V0-11.26 Certification Guide VCAP-VCF Administrator www.vmexam.com 10 Q8. Three weeks ago, while troubleshooting storage latency, an administrator raised every statistics collection interval on a workload domain vCenter instance to level 4. The storage issue has since been resolved. Memory use of the vpxd process has grown steadily, the vCenter database is filling faster than planned, and performance charts load slowly. Which action addresses the cause while keeping long-term performance monitoring in place? a) Lower the collection intervals back to level 1 or 2, the levels intended for long-term monitoring b) Shorten how long each interval keeps its data, leaving the level at 4 c) Disable every statistics collection interval, ending all performance data storage d) Add vCPU and memory to the vCenter appliance so vpxd can keep up with level 4 Q9. Contour is installed as a Supervisor Service on two Supervisors, sup-a and sup-b, managed by one vCenter. An administrator with the Manage Supervisor Services privilege downloads the service definition YAML for a newer Contour version, intending to upgrade only sup-b. In Supervisor Management > Services, Manage Service on the Contour card does not offer the newer version. What should the administrator do first? a) Upgrade sup-b from the Updates tab in Supervisor Management, then select the newer Contour version b) Paste the newer service definition YAML into the YAML Service Config field while reinstalling the current version c) Add the newer version to the Contour service by uploading its YAML, then select it with sup-b in Manage Service d) Uninstall Contour from sup-b, then reopen Manage Service and install the newer version on it Q10. VCF Operations lists twelve VMs from a finance cluster under Oversized VMs on the Rightsize tab. The application owner accepts the suggested CPU and memory reductions. Change control allows service interruption for these VMs only during the Sunday maintenance window, and the VMs must stay in the recommendation list until they are resized. How should the administrator apply the reductions? a) Select the VMs and use Resize VM(s) now, with no restart for a reduction b) Select the VMs and use Schedule Action to resize them in the Sunday window c) Change the risk level in the policy applied to the finance cluster d) Select the VMs and use Exclude VM(s), then resize them in vCenter on Sunday Answer Key Q1 c Q2 a, e Q3 d Q4 b Q5 d Q6 c Q7 a Q8 a Q9 c Q10 b VMware 3V0-11.26 Certification Guide VCAP-VCF Administrator www.vmexam.com 11 Where To Go Next Reading a blueprint is the easy part. The next move is to take the sixty objectives above into a VCF 9 lab and mark the ones you have actually performed rather than read about - on this exam the gap is usually NSX gateways and VPCs, or the Provider Management portal, because both are newer than most people’s production experience. Broadcom’s own preparation route is six Advanced Configuration courses, one each for storage, automation, operations, networking, compute and vSphere Kubernetes Service. When you want to test it under timed conditions, the 3V0-11.26 practice exam runs full-length papers built to this blueprint, and the Broadcom VMware Cloud Foundation community is where VCF operators work through the problems these questions describe. 60 Objectives 13 NSX objectives 300 / 500 To pass 135 Minutes Guide prepared by VMExam.
