MiG-15Bis/Uti Control Setting for MSFS 2020/2024 For these particularly aircrafts, some unique systems not available on modern aircrafts: 1, Pneumatic Differential Brakes MiG-15Bis/Uti has no Parking Brake, the only wheel brake system is Penumatic Powered Brakes on left and right main wheels. They have Differential Brake to control aircraft heading on ground moving. 2, Passive Nose Wheel Steering MiG-15Bis/Uti has no Powered Nose Wheel Steering (NWS), the nose wheel will steer to desired heading when apply brake to one side wheel, but no leading steering function. When on slow (5 Knots) or normal (15 Knots) taxi speed, apply differential brake with rudder (apply more brake input on one side wheel for large turnning) to control rolling heading. During high speed rolling on ground, when nose wheel on ground, rudder control it steer very slightly to maintain heading. 3, Taxi speed limite MiG-15Bis/Uti has ground taxi speed limite under 30 knots (55 Km/h), to start taxi forward after engine running, wheel blocks must be removed, and throttle set rpm above 55% (low altitude airfield), or 75% (high land airfield). When aircraft gain moving speed above 30 Knots, reduce throttle, maintain this speed, control aircraft heading by wheel brake. If aircraft stopped, release brake and throttle up to get aircraft moving again. 4, Push back from Parking Ramp Under these characteristic, MiG-15Bis/Uti have large turning radius when change heading on ground moving. If aircraft parking on ramp/gate opposite heading to runway, usually need to call Pushback Cart. (About Pushback control, see the manual shipped by aircraft package) So obviousilly, these aircrafts have poor ground moving ability, compared with other western jet fighters of the same period which have Nose Steer System (NWS), for exsample, the F-86 Sabre. For MSFS pilots, steering on ground need differential brake and rudder input earlier, and maintain taxi speed not exceed 30 knots. For MSFS 2020/2024 control setting, these keys set may be useful for above characteristics handle. These are key map from my MSFS2024 pc setting, on xbox, pilots may set their own button combines for same function. Parking brake for set or remove main wheel blocks (when on runway, wheel block shapes invisible, open canopy and see the ladder to judge the parking brakes on/off) MiG-15Bis/Uti can attach MSFS stock Pushback cart, which rest on parking ramp/gate at airports, using them follow the sequence from manual. When aircraft on position has no Pushback cart, the aircraft build in Virtual Pushback system can move aircraft reverse from positions by press keys defines for it. (set all working conditions as stock Pushback cart under combine squence in manual). Press the active key, control moving direction by rudder pedals, stop and disconnect by set parking brake on. Virtual Pushback system can operating on any ground surface out of parking ramp. It is very useful to MiG-15Bis/Uti rolling reverse from narrow positions. For MSFS2024, no canopy control binding on control shortcuts, so aircraft logic system using select engine function for canopy open/close.If the default control setting blank on it, pilot need set own key or button for it. For pilot not familiar with new MSFS2024 default control mapping, spoilers, flaps and landing gear control can be set to fsx style or any key/button you familiar. The same thing on camera, MiG-15Bis/Uti have functions depend on camera view changes, handle aircraft easier when set a familiar key mapping.
