Sky5 Corona Virus Workplace Health and Safety 2 What do we need to do? We all have a duty to take reasonable care of your own health and safety, and to not adversely affect the health and safety of others. We all need to adhere to the following procedures that have been put in place in response to COVID - 19. This includes any workplace cur rently being used such as working for home. Good hygiene is critical in the battle against Covid - 19 so to protect everyone we can: • cover coughs and sneezes with an elbow or a tissue • dispose of used tissues properly • wash our hands often with soap and water, including before and after eating and after going to the toilet • using alcohol - based hand sanitisers • clean and disinfect surfaces • washing body hair and clothes thoroughly every day • staying more than 1.5 metres away from others, and • staying home if sick. I n addition to help prevent the spread we should also: • avoid touching our face • avoid handshakes or any other close physical contact • refrain from spitting at all times, and • put cigarette butts in the bin. • minimise the number of people in a lift to only two Frequently touched surfaces on site, including any plant, equipment, lifts, handrails and doors, should be cleaned frequently using appropriate detergent or disinfectant solutions. We can also stagger meal times and breaks to limit the number of worke rs congregating in one area. • Do not share each other’s gear unless absolutely necessary • Clean and disinfect vehicles at the end of each day • Where gloves when travelling through client’s premises IMPORTANT! The virus is a potential workplace hazard, so you must report any potential exposure via the Donesafe Hazard register if: • - There is real risk • - Or if there is a potential risk The more we know the more that can be done, and with managers wor king remotely this process allows us to: Alert - Record - Monitor Workplace Rules and Safe Work Practicies Hazard Reporting 3 Sky5 is issuing each team the following to be used daily Sky5 Hygiene Kits: • Disposable gloves, these are to be used while moving throughout client’s premises and when using our touching tools and equipment, if it is not practical to use them when working you MUST ensure you clean your hands with sanitiser regularly • Hand Sanitiser is to be used regularly thought the day to protect ourselves after touching any surfaces or using tools and equipment. If the alcohol based solution is causing irritation to your skin you can use hot water and soap as an alternative but you must clean your hands this way for a minimum o f 20 seconds • Face mask will also be issued as part of the Hygiene kits but are only to be used in there is a potential or confirmed outbreak in the workplace and you are managing the situation or leaving site What PPE do I need and Sky5 Hygiene kits? 4 It also important that we change the way we work with tools and equipment, by doing the following we can ensure we protect everyone in the workplace Only use the equipment you have been issued, and only use someone else's if it is absolutel y necessary and you wear gloves or clean it first. 1. Wash the equipment with soap (e.g. liquid dish soap) and hot clean water. 2. Rinse the equipment completely with clean water. 3. Disinfect the equipment by wiping it with a disinfectant wipe or submerging it in water and disinfectant An area to disinfect equipment will be established at Marrickville, it will consist of the following, and this is the order in which they are to be used place the item first in the: 1. fresh water 2. soap and water container 3. water and disinfectant 4. hang to dry on the line provided over night This is only to be used when: • we have been working at a site that has had a potential or confirmed case or • Individuals would like to disinfect their own equipment It does not need to be done daily but regular cleaning should be implemented Disinfecting Tools and Equipment Disinfecting Stations 5 We need to be flexible and cooperate with changes that are made to client sites such as: • You may be required to submit individual Contractor declarations to Building Management; • You may have your temperature checked by Building Management before being permitted to access the site, please cooperat e with this request. • Please be aware that some sites may have restricted access to facilities that would be normally available to you such as bathrooms. In this case you will be required to locate an alternative location. • Hand washing, the use of gloves and stringent hygiene practices listed above will be mandatory • Remember to practice social distancing at all times on client sites; This will most likely continue for some time into the future How will it change the workplace? What to do if the is a suspected or confirmed case in the workplace? 6 Sky5 is committed to the heal th, safety and wellbeing of our customers and the communities we work in, our staff and their families. We are continuing to monitor the COVID - 19 situation and adjust our operational activities as advised by the Australian Government in order to reduce both the risk and exposure to the COVID - 19 viru s O ur aim is to ha ve 0 confirmed cases of COVID - 19 among our staff , as a result the following will be implemented effective immediately. • Teams will be no larger than two people and the same t wo individuals sha ll remain as a working team thr o ugh out. This will enable both the reduced exposure internally to other team members and allow for prompt and effective traceability in the event o f an outbreak. • Acces s to Sky5 ’s Ma rrickville facility will be managed by staggering access throughout the day to reduce the number of team members present at any one time.
