Inquiries:muchachha@outlook.com muchachha Biography Stephanie Díaz, known as Muchachha, is a multidis- ciplinary emerging artist, designer, and storyte- ller from Luquillo, Puerto Rico. Muchachha's interest in art began during her early college years when she explored different techni- ques such as watercolor and acrylics. As a self-taught artist, Díaz uses social media as the space where she exhibits her work. It was through social media that in 2018 she received the oppor- tunity to join the Urban Art Collective of the Public Art Program of the Municipality of San Juan as a muralist and graphic artist. For Muchachha, who is currently working on her up- coming show “MOM BRAIN”, art and design are a changing and evolutionary process that drives her to learn about different disciplines and techni- ques to enrich her work as a creative. Her mother- hood has been an important engine in her career, inspiring her to create works that reflect her life experience and all the emotions this journey has awakened in her. Stephanie hopes to continue growing as an artist and designer and present her art inside and outside Puerto Rico. Artist Statement Stephanie Diaz's work is defined by her bold, eclectic, playful, and vibrant use of abstract colors. Her artistic practice was born out of the need to communicate emotions and life experiences through images while exploring themes of identity, creativity, motherhood, and vulnerability. Diaz's creations share a unique and captivating story that focuses on the validation of emotions as an alchemical process that turns them into her super- power.
