PORT FOLIO 2021 BY MIRERFAN SOHRABI 1 TABALE OF CONTENTS: THE RESIDENTIAL COMPLEX 3 THE LIGHT HOTEL 6 THE CONTEMPORARY ART MUSEUM 9 THE HIGHWAY MALL 11 2 THE RESIDENTIAL COMPLEX 3 The aim of my designed residential complex is to create interconnected spaces of living and communicating that have horizontal connectivity so the residents of each unit can have their own privacy The subject was designing a residential complex for 100 family in a 2400 - square - meter plot in Tabriz The designed project consists of three blocks situated in a row while the shading of each is taken into account Concerning the sun ’ s path, blocks orientation to the south direction to save energy and take advantage of the sun ’ s warmth Furthermore, the greatest advantage of the site is its spectacular view to the south of the metropolitan, which must be captured and defined architecturally Having considered privacy, shading, and street appeal, formal connected balconies on the south side were introduced to ensure that every unit enjoys lots of light and phenomenal view 4 The complex includes 3 residential blocks which are united by a garden together The design concepts of this garden are inspired by traditional and old Iranian gardens Each block has a garden which is located in the middle part and joined to the pedestrian path In order to put the ideas in a way that meet the design requirements, the best solution was to shape the residential units into three blocks the height of the blocks changes according to the view and the sun direction To give each block the best possible view towards the garden and the mountain there are some horizontal voids added to the blocks This void provides public courtyards in the height with public facilities for the surrounding apartments 5 This project was based on 4 concepts 1. Optimal orientation creating urban relationship and a good view for its residents 2. The structure is more vertical than horizontal which helps staff for better services 3. Each level has its own lobby which can make a good connection between guests 4. Main part of the project is rotated to sun for energy efficiency The concept of the structure is based on three modules stacked above each other such that each cube experiences a different view of the landscape THE LIGHT HOTEL 6 Because of the optimal rotation most of the rooms are provided with natural lighting The concept of interior rooms design was based on peace and relaxation Light colors and natural materials are the best choice in this regard Moreover it can match better with other furniture 7 The Hotel lobby serve as a place where everyone can feel welcome and secure while also providing an immediate sense of your brand As online check - in becomes more and more popular for guests during this era of digital transformation, hotels will need to get more creative with what they do to their entrance spaces So the design focus of lobby was to be as comfortable as home and luxury as a hotel B ecause of different types of guests who visit hotel i t is important to consider the special palaces Extra room for luggage, romantic area for couples as they wait, different spaces for business meetings have been considered in the design 8 THE CONTEMPORARY ART MUSEUM 9 The main idea of The Contemporary Art Museum was to complete the sequence of boxes, maintaining the symmetry of the system The Contemporary Art Museum will host not only exhibition areas but also education/training areas and offices This system is held together by an external membrane, a double glazed skin This outer layer has a semitransparent finish in order to reveal the interior complexity and at night to shine and become the new landmark of this part of the city 10 The Contemporary Art Museum seeks to draw people in by extending the park and the city ’ s culture within and throughout the museum, blending exterior and interior exhibit spaces, and creating a seamless experience between the context of the city and the art world The building ’ s skin and spaces are both impressive and transparent – a combination of gallery spaces, structure elements, circulation, and semi - transparent facade filter light throughout the museum and provide views (in all directions) of the District allowing visitors to reconnect with the surrounding and distant landscape THE HIGHWAY MALL The brief was to design a high way mall contains of food court and shopping center The design is consist of a circuit of bright and colourful , naturally lit retail malls punctuated by dramatic domed atrium spaces which will host entertainment and exhibition spaces as well as offering spaces in which shoppers can dwell 11 A spacious main entrance atrium will provide an exciting and attractive welcome to visitors, drawing them further in towards the diverse array of offers The idea distinguishes itself from the typical mall designs, which often use a multitude of different materials and shapes The design consist of laconic modern forms and only several types of hi - tech materials which give a possibility to establish a strong and memorable image 12 The End
